The Problem With Hyper-Individualism

Howdy, friends! It's been quite a week, hasn't it? I live in DFW, so I've been trying to work while battling frozen pipes and power outages. Luckily I was able to get this video done in time for a nice early preview! This one is about the "hyper-individualist" mindset that runs rampant in capitalist nations, especially the US where it's praised as "hard work" and "common sense." In this episode, we take a look at why the individualist mindset is counterproductive and an utterly absurd way to view the world. Hope you enjoy!

Great content as always! You should do a video about the role capitalism played in the power outage in Texas

Great video! Concise explanation on why this is a problem!

This channel has mainly been adding value to my life by just stating, in a clear and concise way, so many of the things I've been thinking and feeling for a long time. It feels so good to be validated, to see that I'm not the only one seeing attitudes built into the individualism in America as being central to all the problems we have. Great video, nice work!

Finally! I thought I was the only one to name individualism as one of the many problems with our culture. I love these videos. If it wasn't for these videos and RT I may have given up all hope...I mean I don't have much hope, but at least I know there are like minded folks out there. Thanks for all you do...oh and thanks for introducing me to Nebula and CuriosityStream!

That's pretty much it, Dragi. They gotta believe their own lies otherwise their whole world collapses. Seriously, they need to learn how their own human mind works before they can be fully human.

Unlike your video on Washington riots, which opened my eyes to some aspects of the crysis and its probable results I didn't see, all that you say in this one is (or should be) blindingly obvious to anyone with two working neurons connected together, unless they are telling fairy tales of their own greatness to themselves. It is interesting that those great "individualists" will sue a coffee shop where they scalded their tongue on hot espresso (because their "individual responsibility" does not extend to taking the first sip of hot beverage carefully), and will be adamantly against welfare unless it is tax breaks and other government handouts to them and their companies. I know that I once came up with a list of two or three truly self-made men. It's just that I can't remember any right now... :o) All you need to make lots of money is - money.

They are utterly laughable - and there are morons who worship them as the pinnacle of philosophy!

I’m in San Antonio. Been without power since Monday. Thanks for the video, stay warm!

And Ayn Rand was way too influential and continues to be still. Smh. I really wish her books were held as examples of everything wrong with this culture. And to boot, they are really trite, like hack romance novels.

I am on Nebula! I’m actually working on a 12-part series on the resurgence of fascism, which will be exclusive to Nebula. Should come out later this year.

Question- Are you on Nebula? I'm debating whether to get it or not, a few of my fav creators have channels there, but, do you? ps. Thanks for the video (it's great, as always) and frequent uploads! but, don't forget to take a break once in awhile!

We really appreciate the weekly uploads. Thank you to all who work on these.
