Can You Trust The Media?

Howdy, friends! Sorry this week's preview is a little late, I've been running around trying to prepare for a last-minute documentary shoot. This week's episode is all about the corporate media, whose interests they serve, and whether or not we can trust the information they give us. I hope you enjoy!

Can You Trust The Media?

Comments

This couldn't be more true. I know, I was a cog in the corp media machine. Watch, and you'll see why a free, independent, press was so crucial, its framed in our construction documents, and lobbying has worked hard for years to dismantle.

For instance, I know my mom isn't going to get on a discord server to communicate with others about politics -- the news is just such an easy background noise that people are addicted to letting wash over them. It seems like we need to decentralized news from the vice of the powerful few, but how does one achieve that without total loss of reliable information? (not that it's currently reliable) Or, how does one apply blockchain to news? haha. It's a similar plight as social media: People consider it a necessary tool for human connection or social participation for which they must trade their personal info and mental freedoms/beliefs. With news, many are aware of the reactionary nature of it but ultimately feel "how else would I get my information?" Even if the info they're getting is totally bunk, they feel a sense of involvement. Same goes with social media -- most know the manipulation and monopoly that is happening but they feel, "how else do I stay in touch with my friends?"

Thank you for this very important work. When thinking about sharing this with family who don't realize they're stuck in the media echo chamber, the thought keeps coming up: "Where do we go from here? What concretely can folks do to get news elsewhere?"

Amazing work. I think this is one of your best vids

It's important to understand the difference between fact and editorial. News channels no longer present facts, the provide editorial to frame the narrative around the facts without ever discussing the facts themselves. This is how propaganda is created. Frame a fact in a specific way to generate a specific emotional response.

I really appreciate the work you do

Hey man good job on this, ive been watching your channel for a few years now and thought that i should support , also id sudgest to read up on Ricardo Flores Magon. Hes a spanish Anarchist you might find some liking to his work.

Great work. The video is very accessible. It is a good starting place to begin a discussion with others about this critical subject. I plan to do just that.

Bruh. Phenomenal. Thank you. Invaluable Public service.

Excellent work!

This is just what i needed to pass on to anyone who watches/reads msm (I don't watch myself cuz i worked for newspapers and quit after a realization of the harm i was doing). It takes constant vigilance to be aware of how info gets twisted/ignored/taken out of context. Thank you.

I’d recommend taking a look into the YouTube channel “Sir Swag”. Their team started doing a monthly show called “News Without The Bullshit” that does an overview of some of the happenings all around the globe. Honestly, it seems to be some of the most unbiased news coverage I’ve seen in awhile, the fact of which kind of scares me.
