Does Capitalism Really Drive Innovation?

Howdy, friends! In this week's video we're tackling the claim that capitalism is the sole driver of innovation. It's a very common claim, and it's frankly pretty ridiculous. I figured it was about time to give you all some ammunition for the next time someone brings it up. Hope you enjoy!

Been on here for a bit, but how do we get on the discord server?

Surprised you didn't go into more detail about the iPhone and other modern technology developments. When you mentioned the components I thought for sure you would go into detail about how a university grad student invented the touch screen. The Current Affairs channel has a youtube video on it. Your channel is way more popular though, their video on it only has 110k views after a year. People need to be shown that information.

Hahaha that made my ears happy

I hadn't heard of that claim, even in the quarter-century I've lived in the US. It seems a topic similar to debunking flat earth 'science', but I'm sure you'll make it interesting.

You're kicking ass with these anti-capitalist videos. Keep doing it.

I would add: just IMAGINE, what it would be like if the polio vaccine was licenced. And then think about how many people all around the world benefited because a single man declined the rule of profit. P.s. and so you know, until the 1960s in the USSR economy wasn't using the term "profit" at all. Instead of maximizing profit they were maximizing the productivity level of the labour (reducing the cost and waste, increasing performance, reducing required manhours etc). That obviously required inventions, hence research end development.

Glad you liked it!
