How The US Should Have Spent The Afghanistan War Budget

Two decades and over two trillion dollars later, what does the US - or Afghanistan - have to show for our brutal and prolonged occupation? How could that money have been better spent?

It breaks me to hear the stories of veterans of previous wars, how broken their lives are, and I understand why people will sacrifice their lives to try to stop war. We all have to stop the next one, no matter what. No matter the persuasion, the reasons, the propaganda.
