Is The American Century Coming To An End?

For as long as most of us have been alive, the United States has played the role of the world's single hegemonic power. Military, economic, and cultural dominance allowed the US to secure its place at the top of the global hierarchy. Today, that hegemonic role is being questioned more than ever before. As internal contradictions intensify, and as external economic pressures threaten the American stranglehold on global neoliberal trade, the once tiny cracks in the edifice of American power are beginning to widen. In this episode, we'll dive into this complex topic and see what we can find. Hope you enjoy!

I hope so. Farmers like me will be fine. Good luck getting food from us if you live in a city

I feel like this video may have been a response to an email I sent you about this very topic? Maybe not, but anyway, thank you.

The American dominated world is already over not ending.

As inequality continues to rise, more and more people globally will lose faith in capitalism, and socialism/communism will spread. However the global exploitation of US imperialism will not be eliminated, only replaced, the way the monarchy in Russia was replaced by the Bolsheviks. Different monkey, same forest.

To be fair, we bought the Virgin Islands from Denmark, and they had a vote and approved it. Yeah, I get the other ones, but I don't know if I would count a purchase in 1917 as "colonialism". "May you live in interesting times" is an old Chinese blessing, and a curse.

My guess is that economic power will consolidate under corporate power, with sovereign nations serving them.
