It affects everything we do, from work, to school, to banking, to keeping in touch with friends and family. With something so important, obviously capitalism had to get involved and monetize it. So how did this happen? How did the internet go from a modern Library of Alexandria to just another strip mall? Hope you enjoy!

Don't use Discord, Telegram, or WhatsApp for your Group Project: use Matrix. Don't use YouTube, use a decentralized service like LBRY or PeerTube. Don't use Patreon, use LiberaPay. The list goes on and on. Don't get me wrong, this *will* come at a cost (not necessarily a monetary one), but in the end you will be free(er)

Or, another way to put it, its humanities ultimate pyramid scheme which tosses us all out as soon as we are no longer useful for its continuation. Capitalism has killed or maimed more life on Earth in its name, possibly second only to organized religious based wars.
