Clearly her daughter is unhappy, but all she cares about is status and being able to have bragging rights about who her daughter is married to. It's not worth the well-being of your own child. I'm not the biggest fan of Sophia, but I'm glad she is at least presently, not in that marriage anymore. I never understand mothers who push their daughters to marry big business men for thr sake of money. Perhaps to live vicariously through them, and to reap the benefits of luxury because they never had it. So sad...
