Running Man Episode 11 REACTION

Each of the members eventually will play a certain "role" in the show and I loved seeing how the dynamic plays out. As usual Yong Hwa is the MVP always, I guess I might be biased towards him (just a little). Thank you for reacting to running man, it reminded me of how much i loved the show :)

- before Running man I think X-MAN and STARKING were the 2 most famous variety shows. the ratings war between these 2 shows was very well known and that's when the rivalry Jae-suk vs Ho dong (who is co-host of knowing bros) and who presented Starking happened - my god I love the couple Jihyo x Gary they were my 2 favorite members of the show during the first 5 years of broadcasting, - I didn't remember that Kwang-soo was so calm and shy at the beginning of Running man. when we see the tornado he has become over the years it's a bit surprising, these bickering and fighting with Jihyo, the slaps they gave each other with Jae-suk, and the many hilarious episodes they had started later.

During the 1st year of the show you can definitely see the cast getting to know each other, the production team experimenting with the different concepts, and how open both the cast and the team were to listening to each other. The production team kept introducing all these new concepts which eventually became a staple for the show (name tag elimination, constant betrayal etc etc) but it's amazing to see how quickly the cast adjusted to whatever was thrown at them. I also think the production team made an excellent decision to move away from earning more piggy banks or running balls as the deciding factor on who gets the punishment because you can see people getting more competitive. Instead they introduced the lottery style machine which decided the faith for them, to individual running man balls, and to finally them using other methods to establish the winner. Overall it made the concept of the show great and it really did unify the cast because as someone commented in the beginning as soon as the filming started people were basically already choosing their teams which in the long run would have negatively impacted the atmosphere of the cast members both on the show and outside. I think this is the first episode where they started to introduce the concept that even if your team loses an individual member can still win which opened up so many avenues for the cast to actually use their wits while also entertaining us. It also really made the team so cohesive since at the end of the day winning the game is not the main point of the show.

And that’s how the first legendary guest was born in this episode: Jung Yong Hwa. This would be the moment someone had cemented themselves as one of the beloved guests for viewers in the show. Yong Hwa’s spectacular performance had received a very warm response from the cast and viewers. (And this was in just his rookie year in the industry, pretty awesome at that time to see such a young new blood really shone in Variety program). After this, him and his group would become even more popular. Can guarantee you this won’t be the last time you see him. Kim Jedong was also a very renowned MC and had many notable shows like X-man (with Jaesuk and Kang Hodong from Knowing Bro) and Healing Camp. His chemistry with older casts like Jaesuk, Jongkook, Sukjin, Haha was really amazing. He wasn’t seen much in the regular TV show in last few years because of him focusing on other areas of work but you will also see him few more times in the future.
