🚀 MONSTER UPDATE RELEASED For SteinWipe Motion Control 🎉

Hey Everyone,

It's finally here. The BIGGEST update to SteinWipe Motion Control EVER! 🏆 This has been an absolute grind—hundreds of hours of coding, testing, and refining over the past few weeks (even though I technically only afford about 15 hours per week… funny what not sleeping can do! 😅).

This update is MASSIVE—so let’s get into the details!

🔥 What’s New in This Release?

💾 Avail - 28 G-Codes + 4 Presets for P1 & X1 in Both Bambu Studio & Orca
→ Full slicer compatibility for both major slicers, including everything you need to hit the ground running. (Dev. pack listing still contains everything SteinWipe. X1 SteinWipe and P1 SteinWipe listings will continue to be updated with the essentials).

🚀 Completely Rewritten Material Change Code
→ A ground-up rewrite that improves every aspect of AMS material switching.

🔧 More Stable & Predictable Updates Going Forward
→ With fewer unknowns in the code, future updates will roll out faster and more confidently without breaking compatibility. Now calling the code structure "Core Versions".

🎯 15-20% Reduction in Flushing Volume
→ By fine-tuning temp timing and retractions, less filament is wasted during purges. (Tested by actually weighing purged material before & after—yes, I’m that committed. And thank you so much to the many who bought me a spool for testing! 😉)

🔍 Improved “Flushed” Volume Tracking
→ The slicer now provides more accurate flushed volume estimates (93-97% accuracy with PLA, more material testing underway).

🛠️ Chute Tapping Added
→ If you’ve ever had a purge clog, you know the pain. SteinWipe now taps the chute during AMS swaps to shake loose stubborn purge buildup.

⬅️➡️ Side-Stepping Purges
→ Instead of dumping all filament in one spot, purging now shifts from left to right, creating more uniform purges.

🌀 Addressed Chute Overflow Issues
→ High fan speeds sometimes cause 10-20mm filament bits to collect on the chute’s edge—this update fixes that.

🔦 Work Light Purge Cycles (X1 Only)
→ This allows better visual Via the webcam + calibration for setting your purge multiplier. (🎥 Video on this coming soon!)

🖥️ New “Cool Plate” Definitions for Orca
→ Better startup sequences for printers using cool plates.

🧼 Smarter Wipe Cycle Options
→ Now you can choose whether to wipe before AMS, after AMS, or both!
→ In the future, this may become fully automated based on filament type & change count.

🛑 Fully Overhauled First Layer Scanning
→ Old versions pulled purge material back into prints—this is now completely fixed.
→ If you want first-layer scanning, turn it on in the printer settings and select Extrusion Calibration before sending your print. If you don’t want it, just leave it off!

🎯 First Layer Travel Path Optimization
→ The first layer now adapts if you’re using a prime tower—no more center-of-the-bed travel weirdness!
Pro Tip: Always place your prime tower as close as possible to the wiper for best results.

💾 Codebase Optimized for Future Growth
Code size has been significantly reduced, meaning we can continue adding new features while staying under the 40K limit.

📏 User Offsets for Wiper Calibration
→ Instead of manually modifying every print profile, you can now enter your custom offsets in ONE place. This means YOU WONT NEED TO CHANGE ANYTHING FOR UPDATES🎉
→ Go to Template Gcode at the bottom of the list and look for User Offsets—enter your calibration results there, and the offset will apply across all prints!

🧹 Wiper “Scrubs” Removed (For Now)
→ To extend wiper pad life, scrubs have been temporarily removed—but new scrub patterns are in the works.

🛑 End Routine Fixes for Filament Stringing
→ The filament cut-and-pullback sequence now leaves minimal hanging strands, keeping your prints cleaner and reducing stringing issues.

📢 With an update this big.. Im sure there will be things to report. How to Help & Report Bugs So I can Stay Organized

This release pushes the limits of what’s possible on Bambu printers, but testing for every single configuration & aftermarket mod is nearly impossible with the amount of Im I have available.

If you experience anything unexpected, please report it in Discord → #swmc-bug-reporting.
📹 Include a video of the issue + a 3MF diagnostic file (see #faq for instructions).

🛠️ What’s Next?

1️⃣ New wiper scrub patterns coming soon—simpler installation with just one copy-paste line of code for the entire profile.
2️⃣ SteinSwitch automation updates—more logic-driven behaviors for wipe sequences based on real-world test data.
3️⃣ SWMC for Tier One Maker Supporters

🎉 Thank You for Being Part of This!

This project has only been possible because of the incredible support from this community. Maker Patrons, you’ll benefit from all these improvements when SteinWipe exits beta so hang tight!

🔥 This is just the beginning of many more exciting projects—enjoy the update, and let’s keep pushing the limits together!

Ive sent you messages on Discord, please respond there. It is the best place to help you get setup. You suggested I take control of your computer to set up the profiles - I can not takeover your computer but I can walk you through the setup process.

Hi Daniel, not sure if you're still having trouble. The files you picked up have a link inside the Discord access folder, if you post any of your questions to #steinwipe in the Discord, there are many knowledgeable users who know SteinWipe inside out :)

hi all! I started this journey at 530am this morn so dont mind me, Im going to go crash. Its amazing how much additional testing there is when its for BBS, ORCA, AMS, NON-AMS, color print, non-color print. WOW. I didnt realize it would be this long and good thing too, I found some bugs and fixed them already so you guys dont have to!

Christopher

First! And so excited!
