There's nothing really overly spectacular about this show, it's just plain good. It knows what it is and it never tries to be anything else. The quality is in the simplicity of how they approach their storytelling.

You're completely right...how simple it is really adds to how good it is. There's a lot of directing choices and improv lines from the actors that add to how realistic it is too. I'm really excited to watch this again along with you guys because I really do love this show. Also..even though the characters are teenagers and I'm not a teenager it's still really enjoyable which i think is an added treat.
