Going with Endeavor makes sense. Shoto is taking steps towards understanding that using his own quirk isn’t a credit to his father because his quirk is his own and that he’s ready to tackle being the best hero with his full ability. Endeavor is a terrible dad, but objectively a phenomenal hero, second only to All Might. Also having something that All Might doesn’t have: The ability to teach Shoto how to use the fire side of his quirk. It makes the most sense to go with Endeavor because he has the most to offer Shoto towards moving forward in his goals.

Since where I work they use the Italian names was gonna say before I heard rana define it that it was probably italian also there's a short about all might but I'd recommend at least watching up to season 3 at least and maybe the movie to avoid spoilers before watching that just to be on the safe side oh and just to set expectations it's very short like maybe 2 mins but I love it still

Shoto's journey has gone from wanting to reject his father's power completely because of how it affected him & his mom, to coming to terms with the idea that despite it coming from Endeavor, it's still his power at the end of the day and he has the ability to use it as he sees fit (similar to Midoriya's journey of making One For All his own power rather than being All Might 2.0). Endeavor is a terrible father/husband, Shoto and his siblings only exist to fulfill his own dream of surpass All Might, but he's still the #2 hero and you don't get that title without knowing your stuff, so Shoto is trying to separate the hero from the father and learn from him in order to make his powers his own and be the best hero he can be. In terms of his mom scarring his face, I compare it to how a woman views their child as a product of rape. His face is a constant reminder of Endeavor's thirst for power, and though we see his sister we don't know the age difference between them or how many more siblings they have, so it's unknown how long Endeavor had been trying to "make his masterpiece". To be forced to breed with someone in order to make the perfect child, then watch them undergo incredibly harsh training (in the Sub Shoto's mother begs Endeavor to stop saying, "He's only five!", to which Endeavor replies, "He's *already* five!") had to be extremely traumatizing for their mother, and Shoto was the one who sent her over the edge. To me, Endeavor is the way darker version of Vegeta when he's training Trunks.

Shouto is doing what he thinks will benefit him. Shouto Todoroki needs to learn to control his fire side. Something he has refused to do for years (maybe even after his mom was institutionalized) to spite his father's dream of creating a "perfect hero". To be the effective hero he dreams of, he needs to get a handle on it.

Bakugo wasn't blinded though. Bakugo wanted prove himself but was completely aware of Shoto's trauma. They even made a point to say that Bakugo was saying the same thing as Midoriya.

The reason Shoto's mom lost it was due to being bought as a broodmare by Endeavor, repeated spousal rape in order to "create the perfect child," verbal/emotional abuse, and lastly physical abuse (we absolutely heard him slap her). Also, Endeavor abused Shoto and neglected his other children. Endeavor's definitely trash but he's a good fighter so he's the No. 2 hero.

totally my own idea, but i think gran torino might have a meaning; tori no means "of the birds" in japanese; like owned by birds or something; and gran could be there for "granny", so it's like granny of the birds or something; no clue how that makes any sense; but it's something nonetheless; anyway the torino thing aside, i think the autor really picked it for the gran part; like he needed a name for this old dude; and so omages the movie at the same time as making a sort of pun.

He IS complex, though; like him or not, he does have a lot of experience doing his job, that Todoroki does need to know. Doesnt excuse him, he's still a shitty excuse for a human being - but there is something there to complicate that character, and that's pretty neat.

Shoto needed to learn how to use and control his fire side. Remember that explosion at the tournament when he fought Deku was mostly from him using to much of his fire. He just let his fire out recklessly without tempering it and pointed at Deku but could have killed some in the stands if they were quirkless. Only Endeavor can help him since that was his power he inherited. Plus he only uses it to melt his ice never fought with it since he was burned by his mom
