[Premium Access] Agents of Shield - 4x7 Deals With Our Devils - Group Reaction

Whoopsie we did an oopsie! About 40 of you have already seen 4x8 now but we will be posting that officially next week still! Here is 4x7 now! BIG SHOUT OUT to whomever messaged me (Suraj) on Discord I believe. I can't find where you tagged me at but thanks for letting us know we put the wrong episode up!

Freaking MACK AS GHOST RIDER is amazing! I got to meet this mofo over the weekend and he is the NICEST dude ever. We talked about the Bobbi and Hunter Spy's Goodbye scene and he actually started to well up just talking about it. What a big ol' Teddy Bear. Anyway I told him that we just saw THIS episode and he gave a huge smile because this is one of his faves (gee I wonder why). Enjoy 4x7!

Fitz gets mad at peo ole lying but he lies on a daily basis, I get Fitz is a main character but he can also be an asshole sometimes as well no special privledges

John

The reason Fitz gets so pissed at Mace is bc earlier in the episode he overhears Mace on the phone saying he sent Simmons off and has no idea where she is. I understand Mace trying to make things right w/ Nadeer after the prison episode but sending a high level agent to a (kind of enemy of shield) unknown place is an awful plan especially if you have no one to track her. Fitz's screaming at Mace bc he knows this and he cares about Simmon's safety and the fact that Mace lied about her safety to the team on the jet. I understand Mace is in charge but that was still a stupid plan (sending Simmons off) and he deserved to be called out on it. One last thing is this isn't exactly unusual behavior for Fitz. He takes Simmons' safety above all else. I'm not saying its always right but he's been known to get extremely upset when her life's in danger (for example: when she was taken by the Monolith)

Dani S

This is such a good episode. I always loved Ward, but this is the episode where I started to love AoS.

Curtis

What's up with the damage control in defense of Fitz? Chris, Marketa, and Suraj understand the emotional state Fitz is in to growl at Mace like that- they just don't agree with the approach. Also, sure Fitz overheard Mace compromising Jemma's safety, but 1) they're SHIELD agents so they should prepare for that lifestyle and 2) he completely ignores the fact that Mace was clearly upset with not knowing Jemma's whereabouts indicating that he's not a traitor by action, just incompetent by misaction.

Hammy

When you guys first got into the groove of Agents, for some random reason I thought of the scene where Aida opens the portal and really hoped you guys would be able to make the Dr. Strange connection....and then Endgame happened

KuzonFire121

to your point about marvel as a whole- yeh cant help but think of visions amazing line "Our very strength invites challenge. Challenge incites conflict. And conflict breeds catastrophe."

Zach Sonnenblick

I would like to just point out that the prison situation escalated out of control because of Lucy Bauer and not Son of Coul! Lucy infected the prison guards before the team got there and if they hadn't it would have ended alot worse! Phil couldn't do anything with Robbie or anyone in S.H.I.E.L.D for that matter!

Kimberlan

You just can’t make this stuff up I mean they already did but it shouldn’t be this good

Deadpool

I disagree about being mad at Fitz for his anger at Mace, since Mace didn't even have a guarantee of Simmons safety, but I do think his creation of AIDA was reckless and deserved criticism from Coulson (even if Coulson was being a bit hypocritical). I also really like Mace. His "and without a helmet?" Line is one of my favourite. Great reaction guys! this is a wonderful episode.

Kim Carragher

Aw! I can't believe you got to meet Henry!!!! I follow him on Instagram and I responded to a post of his, and he responded back really sweetly and complimentary . I was stunned to get a response. He's really the warmest person.

Kim Carragher

One thing about SHIELD and Marvel in general is that they create a lot of the problems they solve.

Rufus May

Okay fam, I don't know if it's the angle, the lighting, the framing, or whatever but you all are particularly good looking in this reaction. Just sayin'.

Alvin Cura

exactly!

Namelessnonnie

Chris, you're correct. The idea is out there. An AI will be created and it can't be stopped. That being said, we're really not very close to it. Not as close as people think. We don't yet understand how brains produce consciousness yet. There's a lot we'd have to learn to create an AI.

Kelly Parks

In the original 1970's movie Westworld (which you should definitely watch) there's a moment when the robots start acting weird where a tech says, "Remember, these are computers created by other computers. We really don't know how they work."

Kelly Parks

Ok one more point I have to bring up that I'm remembering. You guys were majorly hating on Victoria Hand back in Season q when she sent Fitz and Ward to go deal with someone (without an extraction and without giving the team the full information). And she was the boss. (Chris and Marketa, remember I love you but I enjoy a good debate and providing rebutting arguments- don't think I'm hatin' on ya or anything <3)

Chelsea

You guys should check out Doom Patrol. It such a hilarious but deep show.

Asma Mo

So we are just going to ignore the fact that Mace had no idea where he sent Simmons or how to get her back? He was being super shady, unprofessional and irresponsible and Fitz knew that. Yeah, Coulson's actions did give Nadeer the opportunity to blackmail Mace, but that doesn't justify Mace's poor decisions. Finding Fitz's reaction a bit much is understandable I suppose, but I don't understand why Mace's shady way of dealing with this situation is being brushed under the carpet. Also, blindly following orders really isn't always the best way to go. I had similar issues with Daisy that you guys have, but I ended up liking her A LOT in this season. I hope you guys do too as the season progresses. Super bummed about not being among the 40...*sigh* Missed Micky a lot. Also, I love how Suraj's face lights up whenever Ghost Rider is onscreen.

Saiara

**Chants** Double drop! Double drop! :-D

*4722 hours :)

Some other things I also loved in this episode was: 1. The tie ins, both physical and thematically. So this episode/slash this season aired alongside doctor strange. So not only does we have the darkhold this season and and overall "magic, mystical" thematic tie in, but also a scientifically made sling ring portalheart_eyesopen_mouth, now how awesome is that. 2. It's just a small thing, one line. It's when Daisy said "Mack, what has gotten into you". And she could have said "What are you doing"?, Or "What's wrong with you", but no she specifically used those words. Now in the beginning of the episode, it means the same as the other two, but then you later realize that ghost Rider was in Mack, and THAT was what had gotten into him. Something had actually gotten into him, this case, Ghost Rider. And it's those sort of small things that make me personally love the show, and that attention to detail is really impressive to me. Just some thoughts. I really love this show.

Nudeldifudel

Lol, Spoilers much? Delete that at once.

Nudeldifudel

Wow. I completely forgot about that side-plot with the senator's brother. MAN did that go nowhere. That was the most worthless side-arc in the entire show.

John FD Lobrano

I love this episode. It's not only one of my favorites in season 4, but the show as a whole. I just love those episodes that kinda do a concept, in this case, having basically half an episode and seeing it twice from different perspectives. I don't know what it's called. And when AOS does these kind of episodes, it usually nails them. Like for example 4722 hours (bottleepisode), Melinda (Flashback/backstory episode) or The team (Who is the traitor? Episode). This episode could easily have been boring with seeing the same things twice. But they sprinkled in enough humour, new information or character interactions to make it work. Like Fitz yelling for Aida to read the book before she says that she could read it, or Robbie being annoyed with Daisy for scratching up his carjoy etc. Ultimately I love this episode for it's execution.

Nudeldifudel

To be fair, to the guys defending fitz. Its not about Mace being in charge and fitz needing to understand it. The episode opens with (still not showing fitz /coulson yet) Mace openly lying to the group, saying that he wants to first discuss how to proceed with her, then lying about how he just spoke to simmons, when in fact he wasnt able to get a hold of her. fitz being in the other dimension is later shown to have overheard this: its one thing to say; as the director he doesnt have to share all information with the group, which is totally fine, directors can choose what to reveal but to go ahead and lie and mislead, by saying simmons approved the mission when they never even spoke is exactly why fitz got upset. he overheard the lie.he overheard that he wasnt actually able to get jemma on the phone, and most importantly that mace shipped her off somewhere and didnt even bother tracking her- from fitz perspective his response- considering he loves simmons, is more than justified- how did you miss that?

Nudeldifudel

Thats a spoiler at this point...i think.

TibrisG

Mace was not in control of the situation. He put Jemma in the hands of the watchdogs with no backup plan. Blindly following orders only works if you can trust the one giving them... In the eyes of the team he hasn't proven himself. And this episode showed that he isn't good at actual spy stuff. I am excited to see what you think by the end of the season.

JustABody

DAMN IT THE ONE DAY I'M NOT OBSESSIVELY REFRESHING FOR THE UPDATE I MISS OUT ON BEING THE 40!! so cool about you getting to meet henry tho! i just wanna hug him so bad he really just looks like a big ol teddy bear. i don't agree with your stance on fitz but i'm glad there's someone who has it bc i'm so tired of the "no one ever gets mad at fitz like they get mad at daisy wah wah" complaints from certain commenters so THANKS TBH lol. BUT i will say can you really blame the team for not being comfortable with working with authority when they have been consistently betrayed by them in the past? (hello hydra) they got trust issues! it's understandable!

Linsey Morris

I’d like to point out that blindly following orders is never a good idea and I think Captain America Winter Soldier showed us this. Everyone isn’t always correct and they do what they think is best. The team doesn’t trust Mace because they have no reason to. Especially when they don’t know his agenda. You as the viewers have a wider perspective since you see everything that our characters don’t but that doesn’t mean they are wrong. Both sides are right in a way.

Christopher simeon

Third thing (not to get political) but Trump has told some of his underlings to do things and they just straight up didn't do it, because they knew it was bullshit and/or illegal. And he is the friggen President of the United States. Ok, I'm done. lol.

Chelsea

Yeah i mean he stood up to an Asgardian to get Jemma back so standing up to the boss is a piece of cake at that point. It doesn't really mater if its the job or not.

TibrisG

Also, yes there is a hierarchy and stuff, and rules and orders, but did you all forget that they all have some serious trust issues about new people, given that most of the upper level Shield agents were Hydra?

Chelsea

Guys, its a tv show... if everybody followed the rules and did everything they were supposed to do there would be no show lol

Chelsea

The thing with Fitzsimmons is that they will literally do ANYTHING for each other. This is also the first time I've seen a reactor get mad at Fitz for the Mace convo.

Macy

Robbie's uncle was caught because Robbie couldn't resist killing that gang member.

Mten10th

Right? And clearly the video is ready ;)

DougRaw

Ah, I knew i wasnt just seeing things! I got the notification about the episode 8 upload (not entirely realizing you hadnt reacted to 7 yet)- but by the time i went on to here it was taken down :( o man what a tease. a double drop every so often would be so great though!

Zach Sonnenblick

I want to be part of the 40! :(

Diego R.

I did tell him that a LOT of people aren't tuning into the show and that it's sort of a sleeper hit. He looked like ghost rider for that hot second so I changed the subject quickly xD

The Normies

Did you also tell Henry Simmons (Mack) that you used to shit hard on the show back in the day? 😂

Nudeldifudel

So lucky that you got to meet him

Kanan Jarrus

Also one of the 40. Could we get the slingshot episode next week included with Episode 8 drop?

Christopher simeon

Damnit I didnt even notice yall messed up I was gonna save the episode for later. RIP

MOB12

Proud to say i'm a member of "The 40"

Kamina 1

I was wondering why I saw the notification then when I checked there was no episode. Didn't even realize you'd skipped one!
