The students were not randomly paired up. For some teams like narutos they paired the strongest with the weakest to balance things out a bit. For ino/shika/cho they paired them up because their parents were a legendary trio. and because their 3 clans tend to work well together with their techniques.

I think they are trying. They are using a list, but chances are this episode wasn't listed as filler because it does have material that was in the Naruto manga. Most anime lists try to only list episodes that are pure anime original filler. We have to accept that the fact that Naruto was a year long anime that relied on padding material out to fill out a 20 minute run time or mixing manga material with anime only material to buy the manga more time to come out just means some weeks we are get meh episodes or some that have filler material in them because they have manga material mixed in with them.

Just wanted to say that you guys have to watch episode 65, 66, and 67 together. The pacing in 65 and 66 is just so unsatisfying and the payoff for those episodes is in 67.

On Gaara being disqualified for attempted murder, ya'll gotta remember that it was totally cool for them to die during the prelims, and its going to be cool for them to die in these finals, and its totally cool for them to die anyday of the week. This world know's death, but Gaara certainly was unwarranted in going in there and trying to murder our boi. He didn't succeed so that's why they're cool with it, if he would've killed Lee there certainly would've been repercussions for doing so.

Well, its not filler if it is part of the original source, which in this case would be the manga. But yeah there are some episodes that feel like filler, but r still present in the manga, so I think they should watch and then decide of they want to edit or not, unless thats too time consuming.

Besides 97, I personally think all the filler episodes until the “end of the series” is watchable - enjoyable. It’s the ones that take place after the end that are more suited to be watched on their own time depending on the characters that are featured/like or not at all. I know people here will kill me but the very short filler arc could be reacted to (especially since it gets referenced, weirdly)

Also, gotta say, in regards to the Naruto/Hinata scene, as a kid, that seemed really adorable, but, as an adult, it just feels really cringy for how childish it is. I guess it's just one of those moments you have to grow up with, lol.

Look, guys, unless you are willing to skip parts of an episode, and has someone that can objectively tell you which parts to skip, you shouldn't listen to filler lists. Only skip the filler arcs. A lot of the time, those filler lists tag important episodes as "filler", because it has SOME filler in it.

FYI this isn't really a filler episode. The next episodes you can skip are 97, 99, 101 to 106 included.
