SPOILER ALERT!!! After 10 watchthroughs I believe it's an untold fact that reaching "Double geass" grants immortality as well. V.V being the only User to actually die, Charles and C.C also tank bullets and let's not mention the end... Just thought I'd share one of the lesser discussed clues out there.

2022-02-17 00:11:36 +0000 UTCOh I'm more than aware of how often anime tends to infuriatingly lean on the highschool setting and cast. I can think of several reasons why they do it, but I also think lot of them suffer for it, and is even more largely why anime still isn't taken more seriously as an art form/entertainment medium. This one is espescially bad though because it undermines the gravity of the story too much. And I don't mind Mao as a character. I just hate that he got swiss cheesed like that and survived. They could have ended that episode in any number of ways to have him come back to get finished off.

2022-02-09 22:47:23 +0000 UTCI think the whole "highschool" thing is just what anime usually tends to do in any school setting. Like if they never said highschool and just called it a school, almost everyone would probably attribute it to a university. Especially considering a certain scene later in the show that I won't talk about yet. As for the Mao part, I also found him to be really annoying, but it was a decent way to show how geass works in general and how it can grow in strength and the consequences it comes with. Mao can't even go out among other people without almost being driven crazy, so he has a twisted personality and no knowledge of human relationships or how to interact with others. C2 had to basically play every role because he just flat out didn't have anyone else.

2022-02-03 22:31:52 +0000 UTCThat's probably why in the movie version they cut Mao out entirely. As for the high-school stuff. It is almost never actually focused on and while silly at times definitely doesn't hold back the show.

2022-02-03 20:48:31 +0000 UTCTABLE-KUN LMAO XD!!! I agree with Miki about the highschool aspect of this show. For me that's largly what prevents this from being a top tier level show. Mao surviving the last episode really annoys me too. I think they really only did this whole episode to reveal Suzaku's past, but I'm also pretty sure they could have found many different ways to do that (especially since they mentioned the adults around him lied, so someone still knows)

Just letting them know because this is the kind of show you need to watch more than once because of all of it’s intricate details and fast-paced dialogue. And I don’t see anybody in the Normies watching a show more than once unless it’s very good like ATLA.
