Hallo everynyan! happy cherry crush friday!!
The last episode was basically just exposition so i wont go into it too much anymore, thing are gonna pick up pretty quickly from now on, even though i think im doing an okay job i still dont want to rush it too much ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญesp since i got a lot of difficult scenes to write this season, still, i dont want things to drag too much since we're technically on a clock.. It's always hard to set tension when things are supposedly "peaceful" but still i wanted to show crush more now that he's medicated.. and he's still our crush ofc..! I dont wanna psychoanalyze my ocs too much cause that just leads to either spoilers or i end up writing essays about them when i shouldnt i should be letting the readers draw their own conclusion ๐ญ๐ญ but i just lauv yapping about my ocs too much i hope nobody minds..
Half of the last episode was Thorne and the crew so i didnt have a lot of time to show where Cherie and Crush are, so i wanted to focus more on them this ep, the webtoon is named after them after all so every episode that doesnt involve them is a filler ep to me and i hateeeeeeee drawing scenes not relating to cherie and Crush cause its just so pointless to me ๐ญsince im a fan of my own webtoon i just wanna read what the couple is doing and im sure a lot of readers feel the same way too, tbh when i thought back about the entire webtoon i can't help but notice how much shit happens bc Cherie and Crush can't leave each other alone like since the beginning of everything them being together is always so much more work than them apart yet the shit they went through together made their bond stronger and I found that really interesting! I'm just scared nobody wanna read a mature cherie crush when they started out so childish and naive.. like there's barely any moment for me to squeeze in a joke scene or anything bc the plot needs to keep moving forward, but i'll manage.. I also wanted to show how on edge Cherie is compared to how calm Crush is it's always so funny how they're never really at the same place emotionally but their bond never changes..
And yessss I love drawing Cherie's flashbacks with his sister cause they're just so cute and cope together and in my opinion i dont like depicting children as clueless minions.. esp in my experience with immigrant households where parents will offload a lot of responsibilities onto their kids, i feel like kids growing up in those environment always know more than their parents give them credit for and always end up taking on burden that wasn't supposed to be theirs, and Anh and Cherie are definitely those kids, people used to ask me a lot about Cherie and Anh's parents but honestly if i ever do introduce their parents it would have to be through Anh's memories bc Cherie basically has zero recollection of their parents impact on his childhood, just his sister who raised him, I basically spent season 1-2 on Cherie's backstory, season 3 on Crush and season 4 on the Syndicate bc it's the last obstacle to their story's conclusion basically.. But I won't spoil too much IM JUST YAPPING I JUST WANNA DRAW CHERIE AND CRUSH BE CUTE FOREVER but i gotta progress the damn story forward.. ๐ Dw when the webtoon ends I might go back to doing short comics for them again that would be so healing..
