And so we have one of the absolute best endings for an anime. The series didn't stay past its welcome, and wrapped up just about all plot lines. Just gonna say that y'all are right, you really appreciate the series after a second or third watch. There's a ton of little tidbits that make more sense with context. Also, Orange Boy once again proves to be best girl. His mech gets destroyed, he jumps out of that mech in another mech, then jumps out of THAT mech to take down an enemy mech in person.

Yeah, it's the sequel to the three recap movies that came out in 2017 and 2018. Summarizing the two seasons into an alternate universe. So simply jumping into “Season 3” will be pretty confusing if you are just jumping off the season 2 ending without knowing. It definitely was for me lol

So just to let you know @Normies. Lelouch and Suzaku started the Zero Requiem plan right after they beat Charles and Marianne in C's World. When he geass'd god. They became F'd up because they wanted ALL the evil on the world to be focused on him. The Plan was always meant to be that he would die at the end, for the future of all. So all the evil they've done in the last 5 episodes was to break down the super power that was britannia to something that would be on the same level as the rest of the allied nations when he died, so whoever accepted the position, aka Zero/Nunnaly, Schniezel would serve Zero, so it was set in stone that Peace is easier to come at blaming an individual, Example: People in the world still blame Kim Jong Eun and Hitler for their atrocities. Even you guys in this episode said KJE. So It is an effective way to make the world move forward through dialogue, because they've seen what a superpower with a show of force will do, and with the destruction of Damocles, and since Schniezel will never distribute those plans without Zero's command, aka Suzaku's Command. Then All of the Civilizations can work without an issue together under 1 table.

to be specifec the 4 movies are code geass but in an (alternative world) the first three are take place as the same time as the 2 seasons and the 4th movie is sequel to the three movies but people mistook the 4th movie being sequel to the 2 seasons but its actually sequel to the movies , so i really do recommend not watching the movies at all specifically the 4th one

Finally, I just want to push Gangsta as the next anime to watch. Only 12 episodes. Female creator (Kohske). And most importantly, MATURE premise lol - it has nothing to do with high school. Normies needs to break from mainstream shonen typically catered to a young, male fan base. There is good anime out there for people that actlly graduated high school, believe it or not. Barely any reactors have tapped into Gangsta yet. It's badass I promise 🙏💕

My favorite ending in all of anime. I feel like an all encompassing ending that wraps everything into a nice bow rly makes a story. My only con with Code Geass is I wished it focused less on high school life/Ashford Academy. I feel like they could separate the slice of life aspects into it's own spin off.

Did they forget what we said last month? There is no season 3. There's a separate movie series that's getting an anime. Please don't watch it, it's just another anime getting milked long after the series concluded. The same thing happened to Eureka 7, random sequel years later and like 4 or 5 alternate timeline movies.

In the one we are living in. I actually looked, Lelouch is ranked 7th in Popularity, but ranked 1st in favourite. So I guess I was slightly wrong

R3 isn't a new season what they did for the tenth anniversary they rereleased the whole show in a group of 3 movies, that changed some of the story. Most of these changes were not big but one or two were. Then they released a movie that was the sequel to those three changed movies. I personally didn't enjoy season 3, it was kinda alright in that it was fun to see the gang again and a fun little adventure but it didn't fully feel like Code Geass and was a step down from all the finagling they had to do to make it work.

Greatest. Anime. Ending. Ever. Still have not seen any anime ending compare. Everything reached a satisfying conclusion for me, and still some things to think about too. Thank you Normies for a fun ride through one of my fav animes. I had always wanted to hear Chris' thoughts on the show and also on Lelouch's character and motives. Enjoyed the couch crew for this reaction, though wished more were watching like Pat and Suraj even Nikki too. I was super surprised, shocked and hyped logging in to patreon and there it was, Code Geass episode 1!! Loved the reaction/discussions and love y'all Normies!

R3 is not a third season. It is the finale of 4 movie sequels - a triology that re-tells the whole story of R1& R2 + a new closure, after the end. It must be noted: it happens in a DIFFERENTE storyline, so it can be considered a parallel universe, if you prefer so. Which means, the events in the series remain the same in the series world, and that ending can remain marked in history as one of the greatest (if not *the* greatest) anime endings of all time. Having that said, I still suggest you to watch, even if on your own time, as it is still enjoyable. A reaction would still be welcome tho :D

Truly in my top 10 shows. I still don't know what this Season 3 y'all are talking about BUT definitely watch Lelouch the Resurrection to get your non canon closure (: or canon...up to you decide what it is lol watch that movie!

I think it’s more possible that he took Charles’s Code when he killed him, that’s why he was still able to keep the Geas he got from C.C. Giving him both Code and Geass, Code Geass.

also i feel like yall said a reaction is gonna happen but some of your questions in the end discussion will be answered in the movie Lelouch of the Resurrection. keep in mind there's a few minor changes in the 3 movies leading up to it, but they are mostly recaps of the series. People keep saying "season 3" but AFAIK it's only titled "Z of the Recapture" which means it could be an entirely separate story/timeline as they've done with various manga/OVAs

You guys have to watch at least the last movie, as other have pointed out here, the others are a recap and there is some slight diff. But you can just read abt them. The movie itself for me will always be cannon, because I think its the ending that was intended for the anime itself. No spoilers, but geass is still an issue that hasn't been resolved in the main series

the movie is fine to see. Resurrection is the fourth film in a series… but films 1-3 recap the tv show you just finished. The recap movies are 90% similar with the changes only being because certain plot lines were cut (Shirley doesn’t have any storylines on the films and this lives). All the major plot points and the series ending are the same whether it’s movies 1-3 or episodes 1-50. The new tv show is set after Resurrection (movie 4) so if you have any interest in watching the new show, you need to see Lelouch of the Resurrection

I like the theory/debate that Lelouch took C2's code and became immortal. Did he fulfill his contract with her? I would love to know what everyone thought about this, unfortunately it didn't come up in discussion

I agree completely. I also love nunnally's voice acting when she gets geassed, her voice changes back to the innocent tone she had in the beginning, showing how much she changed. I never get tired of this show

this is, without a doubt, my top anime of all time. the politics, the characters, the mecha, the fantasy, all well-blended into a story that gets me to cry when nunnally's clashes with the shouts of "Zero!" every single time. im glad yall enjoyed it, and hope the other normies pick it up too, even if its on their own time.
