Cutepunk Series - Process Video and Files (Creating From Imagination)

Here are the process and files for the Cutepunk series and yesterday's Mimi Illustration. What you'll find in these files is a mixture of creation from imagination and references (Concept, illustrations, and character design).

It's a bit of a messy structure for now, but I'll be refining it to address technical issues you might be struggling with, such as anatomy, values, composition, costume design, perspective, and more. All of them at once, instead of one per week.

The process structure for the Cutepunk series is simple in theory but tough in practice. I start with full-body sketches while I look into my references. Ideally, I'd like to address a few points such as a nice expression or gesture, an interesting outfit, and three-dimensional perspective. I've not been very focused on values and colors lately, but this is a point I plan to address as soon as I manage to improve the current challenge, which is designing characters with lines as fast as I can. Although you'll see in the process video that I create these sketches quickly, I often find myself spending way too much time on the quality of the line or the shape of the face, something that is not my goal at the moment, but I keep getting lost.

I believe that no matter what level you think you're at, it's very important to keep studying and exploring outside of your comfort zone. I think my comfort zone covers a decent space of the technical process, but I still have quite a lot to learn, and while doing that, I'll be sharing that process with you!
