And it is a lesser-known fact that he had to eat chicken on the day of every game because he had it before he won his first game. Teams would hide the chicken at games and nearby restaurants when he was in town, so he would go to people's houses and pay them to make him a chicken dinner lol. There's video of him talking about it. So Charlie was right about Boggs being the "Chicken Man".

And I remember a mate when we were 18 in 2007 drinking 30 ultra strength beers (2.1 standards each) + shots in the course of about 12 hours and he definitely could have had more. I also had a different mate who would regularly drink 30 beers (1.5standards each) and 2 bottles of red.

If he had a case or two already under his belt when he arrived at the airport, the long cross-country flight, the layovers, and going out with his teammates when they arrive it's plausible he could have consumed close to 100 beers in a single day. Charlie Day explained to Jimmy Fallon when promoting season 10, Wade Boggs has a hotdog eating competition stomach but for beer. Also, the timing of this reaction is perfect as last month it was revealed Wade Boggs beat prostate cancer.
