#SundayRundown the real monsters are the Humans in the world

Jason Mclean

How does the twist feel shoved in there? It’s literally set up from when you first meet the princess. I didn’t trust her the whole show she waaaay to horny for Flag.

#SUNDAYRUNDOWN Creature Commandos, aight damn they went all in this episode on the bride and Nina, we already knew the bride was too hot to handle from episode two when she took a double pounding from Circe and Victor but they really went all out to give the big ups to Nina this episode. Its just a shame her focus comes right at her end, shes been built up as the heart of this team and now they just rip that heart out.

#SUNDAYRUNDOWN Creature Commandos, man what a ride the show was a trip from start to finish even if it stumbled a bit at the end. The ending does feel a bit rushed and the twist felt like it was just kind of shoved in to get here and have a gotcha moment for the watchers, but thinking about the fact this is a origin story for not only the creature commandos but also the new dcu as a whole it makes a lot more sense. This was ultimately just an intro, it serves as set up so ultimately the story and plot here isn't as important as these character moments.

#SundayRundown. I'm going to repeat a rant I went on when Blindwave reacted and there were people in the comments complaining that Nina didn't have a "badass" moment. That's the point of her character. All of the Commandos (including Waller and Flagg) have weaponized their otherness to some degree. The title of monster alienates, but it also has power and it helps them justify their behavior. Waller does the ruthless stuff she does, knowing it is morally wrong but because she believes that the world needs "monsters" like her to protect "normal" people. The Bride has been abused by everyone she's known (Chris, "Mathilda" isn't just by Mary Shelly, it's explicitly about a father lusting after his own daughter. The Bride by now has recognized that Victor was a groomer) and has embraced nihilism: there's no reason to NOT be a monster because regular people aren't any better. Doc Phosphorus has gone through the other side into hedonism, enjoying being a monster, because a monster doesn't have to recognize his trauma. (Remember the dance scene cutting back to his wedding? His flamboyant sadism is emotional armor.) GI focuses on being a 'useful monster', it's clear that he enjoys killing N*zi's not just because of his programming, but because it is what lets him belong and be accepted. But Nina? Nina never ACTED like a monster, she's legitimately blameless. That's why the coercion to kill the princess is so brutal: these are people with whom she felt she could belong and they told her that not only was murder in her nature, they imply it is the cost of belonging. And in the end, that's the greatest shame, because the lesson shouldn't be that you have to be badass, to be powerful, to be dangerous, to be USEFUL in order to belong. She didn't have crazy powers, and she shouldn't HAVE TO. On a different note: Serge, concerning Indira Varma, look up a movie called "Kama Sutra". You're welcome. (Also, watch Rome.)

#SundayRundown (Creature Commandos 🧟‍♂️) Great finale. RIP Nina. She literally didn’t do anything wrong and that’s what makes her death probably the most tragic. She was the most human & unfit for that team of all of them. Rick Flag Sr. is going to appear in the Superman movie and Peacemaker S2 so I’m curious about what they do with the character. Funny that Suraj says that he wants a Green Lantetn show. They’re literally filming one right now lol. It’s a live action show set in the DCU. Aaron Pierre will star as Jon Stewart, Kyle Chandler will co star as Hal Jordan and y’all already saw Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner in the Superman trailer. Get hyped! 💚

#SundayRundown #Creature Commandos. I enjoyed this season, while not the absolute greatest animated media, its still early and I am excited to see where it goes. In case you were wondering, the two new additions to the team are Nosferata and Khalis. Khalis (The Mummy) is an C tier enemy of doctor fate from the comics, while Nosferata (Vampire Lady) actually has a few connections to characters I won't name because I'm super interested in if they'll get into that stuff in later seasons. We actually met her earlier in the season when she and Congorilla were bullying Nina before The Bride intervened. (She was called ugly by Phosphorous in that scene.)

I think we're at war in the new Superman movie

#SundayRundown James Gunn didn’t add himself to the intro. It was apparently a surprise gift from the animation team Thanos🤝Eric Frankenstein Two big ass mofos where you should’ve gone for the head

#SundayRundown I figured the princess was evil, mainly because she reminded me of the human version of Zod from the early 2000s who was the dictator of Pokolistan and wore Armour similar to the knights

Yeah! I was waiting for this! Just caught up on the other reactions I forgot about since I was busy, but I loved this series far more than I thought I would!❤️
