They're going for realism (at least within the confines of the premise) so the dialogue aren't going to be cryptic puzzles or anything. The sessions can help outline broad ideas and serve as stepping stones but they're not actually a summary of more underlying episode ideas and at times have had stuff said in the sessions be subverted or contradicted. Chase also had an interesting rule regarding most of the shots in the therapy where the camera rarely moves and generally remains static so it doesn't highlight any particular line. Some of the sessions will also just end abruptly to further reinforce some sense of randomness and lack of emphasis.
