The wind was strong and essentially guided Tony towards Isabella, as if his subconscious is trying to show him that his mother is not the ideal mother figure. Tony coming to this realization would shake his world like an earthquake because, with his Italian background, family and loyalty are very sacred. That’s why Melfi is putting the pieces together for him, even though deep down he knows what’s going on but is just in denial. Livia is actually a psychopath at least with Junior he’s shown to be sick and even angry that he’s in a situation where he has to kill Tony while Livia can sit at Tony’s dinner table knowing that Junior is having him whacked any day now
