No I’m pretty sure there’s another reason why he does that. It was explained in the manga so I can’t explain it but there is a specific reason why Kaido treats her as a man. Idk if he’s trying to mock her but there’s another reason besides that

Yeah sometimes the English subs use male pronouns whenever they refer to her cuz in Japanese they are using gender neutral terms for her but still write them as if she is male which makes it confusing. As you said there’s no way for them to translate the fact that she uses the male/tomboy version of “I” which is “boku” so idk how else they plan to express it

Izo was never a crossdresser. He has a design similar to classic actors in Japan. All he had was lipstick because of that look but it was never a feminine look.

There are a lot of Trans characters! -Bon Clay -Ivankov -Inazuma -The entire Kamabaka Kingdom! -All prisoners of lv 5.5 Impel down! -Kiku Yamato is different from them, she is more like an impersonator: (since she wanna BE Oden) Izo is also not Trans, but since when he was younger he cross-dressed to support Kiku. So Kiku would not be ridiculed or bullied by others. (It is 2nd nature to him now)-

A lot of it is because stuff is lost in translation between Japanese and English. In Japanese Yamato uses pronouns that are more masculine but are also commonly used by Tomboy girls. English doesn't have the different styles of pronouns like Japanese so the translators use he/him because it still gives the same idea. It just causes a lot of confusion for people who aren't aware of these differences in language.

It's confusing since the official databooks and stuff confirm that Yamato is a she, and that Kiku is Trans but the English stuff treats them the same.

Yeah Yamato is a woman its fine to refer to her as "she" its just that she refers to herself as a man because she admires Oden and wants to be like him. From her perspective the best way to become Oden is to pretend she is a man since Oden was a man too (which is also why she dresses partially like him). If Oden were a woman she would be addressing herself as a woman. Thats why at the end of the second episode they put a title for her as "Kaido's Daughter"

Yo missed it but when yamato’s name and intro came on screen at the end, it said “Kaidou’s Daughter” and its already been confirmed by one piece staff that Yamato is biologically female but it seems like she sees herself as a man because she wants to be oden and I guess that makes it seem more realistic to her.

Without giving away anything, Yamato is a she*, who "became" a man to be more like Oden and continue his will. Although it is interesting how even though she is emulating his biggest enemy, Kaido still refers to her as his son, which I feel means there is some level of respect he has towards Oden (as hinted by him killing the face-shifting witch lady for interrupting their fight). * According to the Vivre Card databook
