lol yalls reactions to everything here from adama calling the chief up there to every uglyass moment with apollo and/or starbuck on the screen made this episode infinitely better

I haven't watched the original since i was a kid, but for better or worse I dont remember as much internal drama as in the modern-ish show.

I do not enjoy this episode, its badly made. I think maybe its intentionally disorientating so the audience feels like a boxer being battered around in the ring - but why would we want that for a whole hour? Reminds of the feeling of watching the scenes with Gaius on the Cylon ship - it feels bad with almost nothing progressing. Ironically on DVD this comes as an extended episode with all the scenes jumbled in a different order. The season 2 extended Pegasus episodes are really good, they include extra context for understanding the situations and characters. The Normies should watch Razor instead of 4x01 and 4x02 if they have access (its the full uncut version of these episodes).

The Testimony of Mushroom

Commenting too late to be read by the crew now, I assume, but I think this episode is much better extended, more context. It's kind of a mess in the cut-down version.

JXTN

This is genuinely the best episode in the entire show, in my humble opinion.

Guys... how come when there's a storyline about one of the "good guys" cheating you all get, not a bit or some, but extremely uncomfortable? πŸ˜… And btw... filler? In this episode we get a glimpse of how are the characters in times of peace... Meaning this is Starbuck's real personality (still an awesome pilot but toxic AF). The real question is, why is she like that? Come on guys... connect the dots 😜

#SundayRundown I did ship Lee and Starbuck in the beginning, so I thought it was interesting to get them together in the worst possible way. I loved this episode when it first aired and I love it even more now. Starbuck *is* an asshole. She’s also a person who loves deeply, shows up when it matters and also has multiple fucked up things that have happened in her life. Ron Moore used to do commentary for every episode, and I think he did two sets of commentaries for this episode, one with his wife and one with the actors who played Sharon and Helo. Those two and Adama/Roslin were the couples I actually shipped in the end. I just felt sad and frustrated for Starbuck/Sam/Lee/Dee. Ron Moore’s wife talked about how shitty Starbuck was for marrying Sam after sleeping with Lee. It was funny. Ron Moore’s wife was really into the show and used to hang out in the forums. She’s also a costume designer and did the costumes for Moore’s show Outlander for the first couple of years.

I loved it then. I love it now. Cringy at times sure but never even think about skipping an episode of this show. So many things that seem inconsequential come back in later times. So just sit back and ride it out.

Yes, it is so annoying, agree with you all. It's a shame they had to go to such depths for filler, but it's a VERYYYYY cheap episode to film, too. A couple sets. No battles and heavy CGI. Easy stuff.

#Sunday Rundown: I think this episode is trying to explain all the weird drama that's been infiltrating other episodes. Especially with Kara and Lee, their shit could have been dealt with or much more likely ignored if the Cylons never came to New Caprica. Lee would have stayed on Pegasus and Kara on New Caprica. Post Cylon Occupation, they have to face each other daily with new baggage. Maybe we are supposed to think Kara being imprisoned changed her mind on things?? IDK. I hope we get over our shit and win the race to earth against the Genecidal Robots.

Bert In A Bin

Sorry for those who don't like it but this is one of my favorite episodes so much drama just needed to be dragged into view and put on display so everyone can get the fuck over it these are the last days of the human race we've got no time to fuck about, also Tyrol and Adama going at it is gold.

Funny you would say that Spidey. I'm pretty sure you already know, but remember the original Starbuck was a man. While I haven't seen it (given the time it was written) I'm willing to bet he had all of that super toxic macho energy they just kept for the sake of irony. Certainly not with Apollo but I'm wondering now if something like this came straight from that. It won't excuse anything here but later on I think there are two really appropriate lines that sum up all of this stuff. Hopefully I'll remember this when they come up. Also I love your reversal stance on Tigh and Ellen XD.

Meh

lol I forgot about all the Lee/Kara drama but in my mind I ship them hahaha

Daniel R

Yeah, this is gonna be a no from me, dawg. Maybe my least favorite episode of the show. I just feel so bad for Sam and Dee that they are married to Starbuck and Apollo.
