2025-10-13 07:10:57 +0000 UTCMy guess is that Cipher is the burnt body in the house and he's been living through the guy we know as Cipher. So many of the characters in the Boys universe are parralels of iconic superheroes we've seen in comics for decades. I think Cipher is a twisted version of Professor Xavier from the X-men. If I'm right and he is actually in the chamber, it would be his handicap just like professor X as well as being the Dean of the university with the power of Mind Control and maybe Telepathy, it would make sense that he reads minds as well as controlling. Also it makes sense why he's had a kinship with Kate, because his power is similar to hers (maybe identical if Kate can learn to mind control without touch).

I will say I suspected she was an Alt Right troll due to dating Kanye West (for like a month) but was relieved that was far from the case. She’s also opened up publicly about her mental health struggles, which I respect as courageous.

2025-10-12 17:12:17 +0000 UTCEdit: Actually, Possession might not be a bad guess at all. This isn’t a Spoiler for Episode 4 and on. Cipher’s known power at this stage is Mind Control. Possession was an interesting idea but that would have let him just walk around corners beyond line of sight. Exactly what’s going on with his blood is a mystery. Marie is right up there with Victoria Neuman (RIP, you were both cool and hot) but I feel Marie’s powers are by display more varied, and the fact she couldn’t detect ANY Compound V in his blood, as opposed to Neuman’s last season, is weird. As of this episode my theory was that he was a clone or some sort of extension of what we assume is Godolkin. But that still didn’t feel quite right.

2025-10-11 08:14:41 +0000 UTCIt’s pretty obvious that Cipher is just really smart with a decent shot of charisma for charm and intimidation. I completely love this character, Hamish Linklater is doing an incredible job.
