Alright, so NOW that I am done watching this.... I freaking cannot!!!!! This album touched me right in the feels and I will be loving on it for a while. Explaining the reasoning and the why's behind her writting this... and then seeing theres a short film wrapped around it. I simply cannot begin to explain my feels for this album, and I havent been able to say that on an entire album in a long time! Thank you to the requester, and John for doing this. Simply amazing! And yes, definetly left me wanting more!!!

2024-11-26 16:32:02 +0000 UTCI've only listened through the first three but I love it!!!!!! Halsey was one of the artists that got me through one of the hardest times in my life, leaving (with my two young children) my abusive ex husband. that's as far as I'll tell with that, but Halsey always reaches deep into my soul and pulls out the grit and perseverance of what I've been through and tell me I'm better for what I did and that I can make it!!! I will finish this listen when I get home! Thanks John!!!!

2024-11-26 14:32:05 +0000 UTCRegarding 1121: November 21st was the day Halsey found out she was pregnant. Because of her history with miscarriages, I interpret this song to be about begging her unborn child not to leave too early. To only leave her body safe and soundly. It's one of the most moving and emotionally evocative tracks on the album, in my opinion.

2024-11-26 08:59:10 +0000 UTCHalsey's real name is Ashley Frangipane. So any references to Frangipane in the credits are her! ("Halsey" is an anagram of "Ashley")

2024-11-26 08:30:53 +0000 UTCI really like this album. The casual name drop of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross had me laughing considering who they are. It carries their sound so hard (on purpose - Halsey reached out to them to produce it) and they wrote/produced the music on all the songs along with Halsey not just a couple of tracks. Reznor even brought over some of his friends to play on it - ie: the guitar in "Darling" (track 7) is Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, Dave Grohl is playing drums on "Honey" (track 9), along with a bunch of others. Definitely got into this album because of the NIN connection but left it a big fan of Halsey and the rest of her work.
