5SOS - Sounds Good Feels Good (Deluxe)

THIS IS A GOLDEN ALBUM

Comments

Yay back on the 5SOS train! I was nodding my head enthusiastically many times at some of the things you said - especially when you described them as the type of band who made their own music not for popularity but for themselves and it just so happened they became popular. I think that's always been important to them - the integrity of what they create and not just creating music for streams/success. Like you, they were also influenced by the likes of Blink and The Used amongst other pop punk bands of that time - their official documentary showcases this. Thanks for sharing how the music personally impacted you along the way. As you're closer to finishing their discography, please consider watching some of their official short/medium form videos: "The 5 Seconds of Summer Show - a 10 Year Celebration" (1hr 15mins) "The 5 Seconds of Summer Show - live & backstage in Amsterdam" (1 hour) "5SOS - The Feeling of Falling Upwards (live at Royal Albert Hall)" (1hr 20mins) "5SOS - How Did We End Up Here Documentary" (1hr 35mins) "Carpool Karabloke" - coincided with launch of CALM (18 mins) "Cocktail Chats" - coincided with launch of Youngblood (7 eps, 5-9 mins each) AND as an extension to 5SOS, it would be great for you to experience the two album releases each that Luke and Ashton have put out. Please and thank you 😊❀️

Also, although Luke has always been the lead singer, all four of them sang quite a bit in their first two albums! The kind of punk-sounding voice you were asking about is Michael!

this album came out in 2015 lol

This album has such a special place in my heart I'm so glad you reacted to it. I was 16 and a massive fan when it came out and it was everything I needed at that time in my life. I listened to it for the first time in the back of my French class as soon as it came out and it was such an emotional experience.

This is such a good and impressive album from them (their first album is not quite as sophisticated so that this is their second album which was also written while they were on tour is impressive), and like you I also found it a lot later (I think around 2021). I think this is honestly the best track placement I have heard from a non-concept album to date (which is why it is good the non-deluxe doesn't seem to exist anymore because without the Deluxe tracks there would be something missing in this album). AND, if this album has taught us anything: "we need more strings in modern music"
