Hi friends! I trust you're all taking good care of yourselves.
In the last rude talks of chatting, Elf Lord patfeehan asked a good question about how we devised some of the homebrew races that aren't from the Players Handbook and I fumbled a bit trying to remember character creation way back when. So I went back through my files and found the very excellent materials that contributed to the creation of your girl Cordelia!
Primarily I referenced D&D Wiki's Sasquatch (5e Race) page which was suuuper helpful and gave me some excellent, squatchy stuff to play with like paralyzing roar and cold resistance. Looking back, I was also considering begging Branson to let me load up on some of traits from their Sasquatch (5e Creature) page like bear hug (aww!) and geographer (dope), but I didn't want to Cordelia to be too powerful—always a risk with homebrews—so none of the creature traits ended up on my sheet.
Anyway, I don't know all the ins and outs of D&D Wiki, but it's great and seems like a fun and useful resource for building a game that's really personalized. HOWEVER for folks out there getting excited about homebrews: remember to ALWAYS consult your DMs first! Don't be showing up to a game like, Oh hi I'm playing a nymph cheshire cat (huge smile, seductive(??) meow).
On an unrelated note, you also might have noticed I got in my feelings at the end of that RToC ep so, I don't know, while I'm still up on this soapbox, I just want to say how very, very cool it's been connecting with you all. The Rude crew are all home in voluntary quarantine, as I'm assuming (hoping!) many of you are too. And seeing your tweets and posts and fan art, and your gorgeous boys in the discord #pets channel (!!), it all makes me feel connected and generally less terrible and anxious.
This community rules, so wash your damn hands and stay home. I want all of you well enough to come out to one of our live shows on the other side of this mess. Thanks. Bye.
