Talkin' About THE RED TAILED HAWK AT THE PARK BY MY APARTMENT PART 2 with Ali and Tim
Added 2021-11-11 14:34:38 +0000 UTCMonths ago Ali & Tim talked about the Red Tailed Hawk at the park by their respective apartments. It was a conversation about birds and a lot of other stuff too.
Time did what it did (slither) and then something amazing happened. Ali & Tim decided to record another episode about birds. And that episode? Well you're listening to it right now (had you started reading the copy after you pressed play)!

I so want you two to do a positive thinking podcast or something like that

2021-12-03 23:27:02 +0000 UTCI'm loving these podcasts. There's nothing better than hearing about folks getting into a new hobby, a new love. The enthusiasm and joy are contagious! I've been doing the birding thing a bit longer than you guys, but I'm no expert, either. If you are up to a little homework, I found that understanding what birds I could see at a particular time of year, in a particular place was invaluable to identifying them. There's no need to page through every bird in your field guide (or online resource) to figure something out, if you already know there's only a couple of dozen common and uncommon birds species around. The park you go to very likely already publishes a list of every species ever seen in the park. Just try and filter out all the rare and accidental species from that list. Look up those birds and figure out how to identify them, and figure out what time of year you might see them. Hopefully that will help! Good luck, and good birding!
