Regardless of who gets the Oscar this year, I think we all know that the Best Picture to come out of 2022 was James Trofe's mammoth indie undertaking: animating nearly 20 minutes of Episode 2 of Rude Tales of Magic, "Down for the Count."
Carly sat down with James (both in their own homes — they used computers, you see) to talk about process, inspiration, and beating up vampires!

What a great interview, wow!! It was so cool to see the progress of this animation sporadically over time, and seeing it condensed here is also wild. Trofe's gotta stop being so humble and realize that he did an awesome job on a ridiculously ambitious thing!!!
