Hi, @IcedQuokka, have you looked to YouTube to see how other content creators are producing their reaction videos? They are all using dedicated software for capturing reaction video. Some have more elaborate setups using two monitors to capture both movie and reaction on separate monitors. I have no experience in such matters but ideally you want to be able to shoot your reactions as you have been doing, overly a small window with a blurred version of the movie in real time, along with a time counter displayed as hours, minutes, and seconds. I subscribe to a few Patreon reaction channels and this is how most of them do it. One of them is still trying to work out how to integrate a blurred version of the movie in their Patreon uploads, so you're not alone in figuring things out. One thing to note: one of the content creators mentioned that it takes significantly longer to render a composite final video with a small window showing a blurred version of the movie (to avoid copyright issues). It's a function of the video software that it takes time and some computing power to blur images and video. I don't know if you have checked out other reaction channels on Patreon for examples of how they do the technical things. I hesitate to name examples of other Patreon channels because I like the idea that every person has a unique reaction to movie or TV shows, without being influenced by what others do. That said, if you want to speed up your learning curve you may have to see what others do. I *could* point you to some that I subscribe to, either here in comments or via DM, if you wish. Keep up the good work!

No prob. Just seen you're in Spain, hope you're OK where you are. I'm down south, lots (and lots) of rain but no real drama so far.

Potentially might work actually yeah!! One single file of 4 hours will fit everything I think hopefully!! Thank you for your help 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

OK, I still know nowt but regardless of what software you're using for the editing you should be able to find a video of a timer (or make one, just one, yourself) that you can add as a track in your editing suite. I'm on Mac and don't have anything apart from iMovie (which doesn't make adding a timer easy) and Google ain't much help, but if you had a 4 hour timer recorded, that pretty much covers everything (even LotR extended, without credits).

AdrianF

I know nothing, but you have a feed of the thing you're watching no? The 20s at the start? I assume you're streaming the stuff you watch outside of that? Also, I've added some numbers in another comment for this one which should help.

AdrianF

Im working on trying to figure it out but it’s a lot harder than it seems 😭😭 idk how to do it without having to record a timer and making a 5-6 gig file each time 😭 if you have any advice please let me know!

Jack, I'm flying (1.21.30 in the movie) is about 1.23.17 in the reaction. Hand on window, 1:37.00 (reac). The first shot with the iceberg hitting is 1.42.06 in the reac, 1.40.16 in the movie.

I signed up to watch this one with you and haven't checked out your other reactions yet so this feedback might be out of date: at the very least it would be really helpful if you put a timestamp as part of the reaction. I have 1:53 and change left of your video, but I have no idea where that actually is in the movie - I had to stop watching yesterday. I love the movie and will start from the beginning again, and try to work out where I can sync (the, erm, sinking is exactly half way through the movie so I should be able to find that part from the video's length. But yeah. A timestamp please!!

Out of the seven officers, four survived the titanic. Charles Lightoller was the highest ranking officer as second officer who survived. He was the one in the scene about the life boats only half full. Herbert Pittman the third officer survived aswell as Joseph Boxhall the fourth officer and Harold Lowe the fifth officer. He was the one who returned with the boat. Lowe most likely survived, because the sixth officer and the youngest one with 24 years, James Moody told him to get on a life boat, while normally Moody should have taken this place. He was the one who took the call from the outlook post. At the night of the sinking, the binoculars were missing, they adressed that shortly before the scene.

Thanks for sharing your reactions to "Titanic". I did not see this at initial release in theaters but watched it after it won Best Picture and Best Director at the Academy Awards, and finally made its way to DVD release more than a year after theaters. Wow, I was a blubbering fool sitting at home watching this film. James Cameron did a nice job of weaving a drama and love story around a real life tragic event. It's not art in the same vein as "A Room With A View" or other works based on popular novels but "Titanic" works for me. Even though modern movie watchers can tell when they are watching digital re-creations of the full scale Titanic in scenes, there looks to be a ton of work by artists and technicians that went into the scenes. James Cameron wanted to convey authenticity within his budget (which was huge). The Titanic shown in the movie isn't entirely authentic but likely much closer than anyone has done on film before. I like how we know that Rose lived a full, rich life the way she wanted, and also raised a family. We have to remember that in 1912, women in the U.S. still didn't have the right to vote.
