Harmon and the writing staff clearly get pissed at him and start to change his character drastically from the "old white man who says some bad things from time to time but also has wisdom" to, well, what he becomes soon. Chase is still taking shots at the show as late as late last year.

The way it keeps building and building and you know it’s going somewhere ridiculous based on the acting and general tone, but the way they just keep piling on conspiracies to the point where even the “police” were involved until it’s finally revealed that literally none of the conspiracies were real is just SO well executed. Plus the way the blanket fort B plot is the setting for the classic chase sequence is great too, and fits perfectly with the absurdity of the A plot. Only this show and its characters could’ve pulled off that sort of thing. Just peak intelligent stupidity 😂👌 “Fact: in 100% of all fake gun related shootings, the victim is always the one with the fake gun.”

2024-04-07 07:42:10 +0000 UTCChevy Chase started having a lot of issues with the rest of the cast - refusing to work long hours and generally acting like a spoiled movie star. That's why even when you see him he's often in a separate shot. One episode this season actually had a body double instead of Chevy that was then dubbed over - see if you can spot which one.
