It probably would have been better for the show overall if that season was worse - without spoiling much, that season being pretty decent convinced them they should radically remake the show every season, and that was the only time it worked.

The German kidnapper woman is wearing an Excelsior t-shirt (the name of the blimp company) when they abduct Archer. The guy with the cane whose first in line to purportedly sleep with Lana is Brett, the guy that Archer has accidentally shot, twice, in earlier episodes. And so on.
