This episode was either meant to be a one shot or have at least have only a couple of cuts but behind the scenes stuff and rewrites meant they didn't have time. Also during the filming of this episode they learnt that release of season 4 would be delayed (this Christmas episode aired in April) so Jeff has a little line referencing it when he's putting up the curtains. "Actually, these will also work for Valentine's day, presidents day, whenever people get to see it."

2025-05-07 02:10:02 +0000 UTCI've always wondered if this episode was referencing the movie The Ref where a thief breaks into a home and ties up a couple that's on the rocks and proceeds to help them talk though their issues while they are held hostage. Not to mention The Ref is also a Christmas movie. It's a pretty good movie with Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey.
