Crazily enough, we had wargames scheduled with the Pentagon and Cheyenne Mountain that week. Was supposed to start on Thursday, and the attack happened Tuesday morning. For those who weren't in front of a TV, like me, there was a ton of confusion early, thinking maybe we had kicked off early. I was out in the woods near our site that morning, setting up for the war games. I had left the facility before 8 to get to work, and had no idea anything was going on until the site director came out to get me and the guy I was working with. When we were coming back into site, the guards were all getting flakked up, and loading the .50s. By the time I walked back into the facility, both buildings were gone, and the Pentagon news was still fresh, and confused. As I walked into the facility, the news was announcing that the State Department had just been bombed, which turned out to be false. It's crazy, I was working for the Pentagon that morning, and I had no idea about ANY of it until it was basically over. My mom knew I worked for the Pentagon, but not where. The next couple of days were a blur of work, and I wasn't able to call her. I'm 46 now, and I will remember for the rest of my life how her voice cracked when she answered that first call.

2025-05-15 14:38:45 +0000 UTC"Let's roll" was the last thing said by a passenger on the plane where the passengers stormed the cockpit to try and take the plane back from the terrorists. It was kind of a rallying cry here in America and represented heroism and courage, all that jazz. It was pretty much associated with 9/11, especially when they made this episode, only a few years removed. Also, as a jew who loves Survivor, the dinner scene made me cry laughing my first time seeing it.

They gained entry into the cockpit but the terrorist flew the plane into the ground. Crazy times watching that live, due to different broadcast camera angles , you had newsreaders in NY find out out the tower collapsed later than some others around the world. e.g. me and mate on phone here in oz. It was insane watching it all unfold and just getting worse & worse as it went on. WTF the pentagon now??!! full ww3 action movie live. Those that slept through it will never understand.
