2025-05-26 03:08:14 +0000 UTCDavid Cross (Tobias) had a hilarious sketch comedy show on HBO in the 90s with Bob Odenkirk called “Mr. Show With Bob and David” (“Mr. Show” for short). It only lasted a couple of seasons, so if you were to react to it (hint hint) it wouldn’t take long to blast through it. It also had a young Jack Black and Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob). They also had a ton of surprise guests like Patton Oswald, Sarah Silverman, Maynard James Keenan, Dino Stamatopolous (Starburns).

2025-05-25 19:47:35 +0000 UTCMan, the GM and Maeby stuff is just the tip of the incest iceberg with this show. There are countless incest jokes strewn throughout this series, which is amazing for what was meant to be a mainstream network comedy.

2025-05-22 21:59:50 +0000 UTCFun Archer/AD crossover facts: When they originally wrote Archer and were casting, they told the casting department "for Mallory, find someone who is like Jessica Walter", and it just worked out that Walter loved the script, and agreed to join. The dad in jail, George Sr (Jeffrey Tambor), was Len Trexler in Archer, which I think Hendo caught right away. The dynamic with Walter is pretty much magic, and is the same in both shows. The actress who plays Cheryl/Carol/Cristal/Charlene in Archer (Judy Greer) is a recurring character in AD, with one of the best of the many catchphrases in the show. Her scenes with Gob and Michael are fire, every time. The actor who plays Tobias (David Cross), Lindsay's totally-not-gay husband, is in a 3-episode storyline of Archer that you haven't gotten to yet, which is my absolute favorite story arc in Archer. There are about half a dozen smaller roles in both series that share the same actors.

2025-05-22 19:45:12 +0000 UTCYou'll need to rewatch to get every joke. And then rewatch the rewatch. And then rewatch. A few times. Just plan on rewatching every few months for several years, only to find out one day on a YouTube video that you've been missing half a dozen callbacks and references every episode.

2025-05-22 06:39:47 +0000 UTCSo glad you guys are reacting to this: one of my most fave shows. I recommend checking out the extended cut of this pilot (I think it's approx 40-45 mins long?) as it adds a few extra character lines and details that I think really help to solidify the profiles. For example: that last convo with Michael and George Snr in the jail also has a moment right after "worst attorneys" joke where George Snr mentions the "family comes first" line that Michael states at the start of the ep, kinda highlighting that the apple doesnt really fall far from the tree
