sherlock is pretty short, only a little longer than band of brothers i think. shorter than firefly even. one season is only three episodes. i guess what im saying is both sherlock and firefly please :) deadwood is great too, and happens to have the best intro music ever. boardwalk empire too. i mean whole list are all good shows. im just rambling

2025-09-06 20:33:58 +0000 UTCI think you both would really like Boardwalk Empire. Created by Terence Winter who was a writer on The Sopranos and Wolf of Wall Street. Also, Martin Scorsese directed the first episode and was an executive producer for the majority of its run.

2025-09-04 01:41:26 +0000 UTCI know it’s a long shot, but I vote “The Venture Bros”. “Freaks and Geeks” is fantastic as well. It launched the careers of a bunch of big name actors.

2025-09-04 01:04:34 +0000 UTCI love venture brothers but maybe not the right crowd - these guys tend to forget details and that starts to reference itself a ton in the later seasons.

2025-09-03 19:29:11 +0000 UTCOh and The Boys is incredible. It's a one-episode-a-night sort of show though. Super intense, super graphic, super violent. Also innovative and hahalarious in its own way!

2025-09-03 19:10:15 +0000 UTCFirefly is a perfect season of television. They really screwed the show, cast, and viewers with how it was aired and prematurely canceled. And yet they STILL made a fucking fantastic movie from it years after the fact. Such a fun watch!

2025-09-03 19:08:02 +0000 UTCYes! Double the output of Arrested Development.

2025-09-03 17:58:15 +0000 UTCFirefly is fantastic. Old West Sci Fi. Outstanding cast. Highly recommend. Freaks and Geeks holds up really well in the high school outsider/coming-of-age thing...it's all the faces you know from 2005-2025 comedies, but as teens. Boardwalk Empire is, to me, on the second-tier of all-time television. You have The Wire, The Sopranos and the Fring/Salamanca Epic on line 1, and Boardwalk is only shortly back of that level. Prohibition-era gangster shit, with one of the strongest sets of characters of any show ever. It's just top notch, from beginning to end. Justified is just a fun show. If you like shows like The Shield, or Sons of Anarchy, there is a similar feel there, but layered over a world of back-country outlaws and US Marshalls. It was the show that made Walton Goggins an icon.

2025-09-03 17:41:48 +0000 UTCDefinitely pick a show that neither of you have seen. My first suggestion would be to double the output of Arrested Development rather than start something new. There is so many details in that show which might get lost due to the time between your episodes. Of the shows on your list. I would definitely recommend Fargo. Season 1 is one of the best things ever produced for television.

2025-09-03 14:22:03 +0000 UTCBarry, Fargo. Just for yourselves at least. Have 1 non-top 20 wildcard, I remember seeing many calls for Barry in the chat. Subjective and all that but goddamn some of the shows on that IMDB list dont deserve to be there. For Bob Odenkirk (better call saul guy) goodness check out the sketch show he did in late 90s with David Cross called 'Mr Show'.
