Honestly I feel like RWBY as a whole is all about Fear and Trust... and how do each of the characters deal with it respectively. Salem’s greatest weapon is humanity’s fear, and RWBY’s greatest ally has been trust so many times, just plain and simple trust in eachother and those they care about placing trust in them.

Do you run and hide (Raven)? Do you try to appease and bargain with your fears (Lionheart)? Or do you choose to face your fears and fight (Team RWBY and company)? All three people or groups are afraid of Salem (despite how much Raven might deny it). But the juxtaposition of how each one chooses to deal with it is very much summed up in this episode. Even Oz and Qrow know something is wrong with Leo, but they probably don't expect a full on betrayal to the level that which is coming. But they choose to walk into it anyway, despite the fear
