Next project: Dungeon Meshi!

Hey all, a week has gone by since the last video, so I'm just updating you on the next video project, which will be about the manga Dungeon Meshi by Ryoko Kui.

This video is going to be more similar to the Witch Hat Atelier panelling video, in that, the sole focus isn't on the manga technically, but the artistic approach I think it does tremendously (and if not, my favourite example).

It should be a video that, even those who haven't read Dungeon Meshi, may like too. Especially, if you're someone who's looking to dabble into character design/drawing yourself, or just find that topic fun.

There's a bunch of resources I've been reading as research for this and it's shaping to be a fun video! I can't quite give a time duration it'll take to make, but I'm hoping to get it out before or just after Christmas. But I'll be sure to give updates along the way incase that changes.

Hope you're all having a lovely day 😊

Couldn't agree more, and with Trigger's popularity I can only imagine Meshi will shoot up on people's "to-read" lists... And the Witch Hat one is making me angsty waiting on more information 😭

Always happy when a great anime gets made for a great manga, the more people who get to experience it the better! Witch Hat is also slated to get an adaptation but there's been basically no info other than it's supposed to be happening. Hoping for the best for both adaptations!

Ah, I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed both! Dungeon Meshi and Witch Hat are my top 2 favourite manga, so knowing I've somehow spread the reading agenda always makes me smile ☺️ And I couldn't agree more! The world-building is absolutely phenomenal and I can't wait to see how Ryoko Kui wraps it all up in her usual unpredictable way. It helps that's Studio Trigger will be on the anine too, what a treat 🀯🀯

I only found out about Dungeon Meshi because of one of your recommendation roundups, but I started reading and couldn't stop! I had heard of Witch Hat Atelier but never read it until your video on it either haha. So thank you for those, they're absolutely wonderful :) It's really amazing how Dungeon Meshi starts off so small, builds up the world with all the flora and fauna and lore with the dungeon itself, and just gets bigger and more important so incrementally. I am also super happy that it's actually reaching its inevitable conclusion and they seemingly haven't tried to pad it out or extend the story just to sell more chapters. One of the best manga I've read in a long time, right up there with Witch Hat.
