It's been around 5 days since I released my Dungeon Meshi video (which is doing surprising well algorithm wise, very shocked with its performance so far!) And, as promised, I said I'd get around to announcing the next video and its topic.
As you can see from the thumbnail design, this video will be covering Berserk - but not entirely. In fact, this video won't be 10 minutes of me talking about why I didn't like Berserk, but actually a topic surrounding general public's views towards media.
Because, I didn't like Berserk, but I also didn't dislike it either.
For me, it wasn't my cup of tea. It just wasn't for me (sorry to those who love it)! I couldn't even tell you why properly, it's just one of those "it didn't click" type of scenarios.
And that's what this video is about. Being able to just say "eh, it wasn't for me", rather than claiming "I absolutely loved it" or "I absolutely hated it." I feel the consensus towards saying "I neither loved nor hated it, it just wasn't to my taste" is perfectly fine, and should be said more.
People don't need to rationalise their reasons for not liking something, unless of course it's something constructive, or if a medium has offensive themes/scenes worthy of being called out.
If someone didn't like Witch Hat Atelier because they couldn't get into it, I wouldn't expect them to make 38472987 defenses to back up that opinion. I'd just be like "oh, that's fair, it's not for everyone"
And that's a rational I'm wanting to raise in this video.
It could have been about other very popular shows/films etc that I'm also not massively into, but given Berserk was something I read last year, on top of many people begging me to read and analyse it on my channel, it only felt fitting.
I'm going to start working on it starting next week, and I hope you guys will enjoy it. Of course, I'll raise any updates if needed!
Hope you have a lovely day,
Dani
