Why Promare looked AMAZING (video release!!)

Hey all, the Promare video is finally here 🥳🥳 There's a *lot* of sources in this one, as there was plenty to pull apart from interviews, artbook scans and bts stuff the staff of Promare released. I adored this film when I saw it in the cinema, I remember being so buzzed when the credits came and wanting to rewatch it straight away.

The poll results were pretty 50/50 between this and Spider-verse, and funnily enough, I do talk about that film a bit in this video anyways haha, but I'll be sure to do a Spider-verse video this year for you guys - especially with the second film on the way!

I hope you all like this one, I'm really happy with how it all turned out! As always, the video will be released publicly tomorrow along with subs and the ads turned on (I managed to fix around the horrible copyright claims this video kept flagging, thankfully).

Let me know in the replies or Discord what you thought, and I'll update you all next week on which manga got officially picked in the poll for the next video - so far, Houseki no Kuni is winning!

Take care,

Dani

Oh bummer, too bad about Dead Leaves! Darn copyright flags getting in the way. It was still a great video 😄

Absolutely, couldn't agree more! I'm more prone to Yoh Yoshinari's work than Imaishi's from Trigger actually 🤔 But who knows, given the Dungeon Meshi series they're doing, I could have a new fave again! Yes!!!!! I was going to put Dead leaves content in, but that was actually some of the scenes getting blocked by copyright claims 😭😭😭 But you're 100% right!

I might not like everything Trigger does, but I appreciate that they do so many original works and definitely go for it visually. Promare is absolutely a style powerhouse, the colors are and shapes are ridiculously identifiable. The only other work that immediately came to mind as having that kind of vivid color and stylistic rigor is Dead Leaves, and when I looked that one up I was honestly not surprised to find that Imaishi was in a lot of key roles. It is like they took FLCL and just turned everything up to 11.
