Manga Recommendations You Must Read

Hey all, thank you for the patience in waiting for this videos' release! I'm here with my third manga recommendation video, and I hope to think there's a good variety of different genres and demographics for everyone to at least have one manga of interest.

My manga recommendation videos are a favourite on the channel, and I love seeing people picking up the series after my videos and sharing their thoughts. So if any of you guys have opinions (doesn't matter if it's not the most positive, do share them!)

Like I said in my last post, i'm doing a surprised video next, and then covering The Summer Hikaru-kun Died after. So I hope you guys look forward to those videos!

Thank you all for the support as usual, really helped with this video in regards to buying some volumes! And also getting a little mic attachment that makes speaking into the RODE GO mics so much clearer than when they were attached to my shirt.

Hope you're all keeping well, and this video will be up publicly later today about 5pm/6pm-ish (UK time).

Ah, sorry for the late reply. Didn't realize there was a reply and was too busy to check manually until now. Thanks for replying at all :) Tip-of-the-tongue is the worst feeling! Glad I could help :D For Gokurakugai I totally understand only being able to recommend something based on what's there right now and people's tastes being wildly different. Makes life fun to not know for yourself! A new series is always a bit riskier but equally exciting to follow along and see where it goes. Magi has been great so far! Not fully caught up yet but it's been a fun read. These lists are super fun to go through whether I end up actually reading a certain story or not! It's not only great to learn more about series I hadn't been aware of before but I can always recommend them (and your video) to other people I know might enjoy them!

I was so broken hearted when you said “Change of Heart” doesn’t have a physical release! I totally want to read that. It sounds so sweet and lovely.

Agh, Stray God's!!!! That was what Enidewi also reminded me of!!!!! That was at the tip of my tongue the entire project 😂 (You have reminded me to re-read The Wicked + The Divine - I loved that comic when I was at college. As for Gokurakugai, I'm not too sure 🤔 It does pull from so many battle shounen that I wouldn't be surprised. So I wouldn't want to promise anything, but I don't mind shonen stuff myself so I'm biased. For Changes of Heart I completely get where you're coming from. I think that beginning execution could have been way better and not having to use a drunken state to get to that position. She doesn't have any hangover or was sick so I'm assuming she was more tipsy (this is way out of my area of knowledge- I don't drink myself tbh 😅). I thhiiiiiinnk it was a way for the mangaka to just push through that bit of awkward starting of the relationship for the first chapter. Still not my favourite, but that was the only part of the manga I was fussy about. Magi was probably my favourite of the lot, so I'd definitely recommend checking it out! I haven't heard of Worm but I'll be sure to look it after later 👀👀 That was a good 4-5 out of 6 though, that's good going! 😂 Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts as always!

Exactly! I don't know why but things that like to buck the trend well always intrigue me. Either way glad to see it recommended.

Oh hell yeah, devoured the video immediately! Lost Lad London definitely looks interesting, both in terms of the more raw art style but also the characters and story. Into the queue it goes. I was sold on Witch Hat Atelier almost immediately and Enidewi seem to be the same way, the dynamics between the characters just look like a lot of fun. Good Omens for sure but also getting some Wicked + Divine / Stray Gods vibes from it. Gokurakugai looks like fun, excited to see where it goes! I hope it can stay interesting and not stray too far into the shounen pool. Even Frieren kinda veered a bit too shounen-y for me with the Mage Trials and the El Dorado arcs but the endings were good and it feels like it's back on track with good character development again now. Changes of Heart... I don't know, I just don't buy that intro. Attitude gives drunkenness away and if not that then absolutely the taste or smell. When someone gets close to your face or goes as far as kissing you and they've been drinking it's ridiculously obvious. Unless they just have the lowest alcohol tolerance of all time and they only drank a teensy bit haha Magilumiere looks to be a potentially thoughtful magical girl series? Awesome, I want more things like Wonder Egg that take it and run with it in a different direction. They don't have to be crazy dark and brooding either, I think that comics like Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel that tackle the opportunity costs and consequences you accept to protect others are super endearing. It can get pretty dark but honestly you might want to try reading Worm (the web serial) if you haven't already; starting small with a clever main character who thinks her way out of pretty wild and harrowing situations to a mind-bogglingly large story with many layers of great storytelling, world building, and character building. It is long but it was endlessly rewarding, at least for me.

The spine always stand out whenever I'm in a bookstore funnily enough, so i looked at the blurb and was intrigued. This was actually a "DO judge a book by its cover" moment 😂

Lines In Motion

Not gonna lie I grabbed Lost Lad London because of the cover as well and just seemed so different from everything on the shelf. Glad you had enjoyed it!
