I guess my next question, then, is… what do _you_ prefer now? Mainly in the case of a patron that is very, very likely to continue for over a year. Would you rather have 16% less funds now, or 100% spread out?

Wow! Thank you all so much for your questions and concerns! It really means a lot that you all are so supportive and mindful of how this could impact me and my team. To answer your questions, yes, the 16% would come out of the amount I receive, but the annual retention provides a lot of stability in knowing that those funds are secure for an entire year. There's also the added benefit in having access to the funds sooner and having more freedom in how they are used to fund my channel with long-term goals in mind. And the main hope, of course, is that it would benefit committed fans who maybe don't want to worry about monthly installments, or could better afford to remain a supporter with the 16% decrease in cost. And this is a beta program, so I'll definitely bring your questions and concerns back to Patreon, and I'm going to continue to be mindful about how it's impacting me here on Patreon. I really am super thankful, though, that you all are so mindful and supportive.

I'm with all of them ↑ If that 16% comes from you, instead of Patreon, I'll stay where I am. But I have to say, an annual subscription makes me feel less "nickled-and-dimed" (even though it's all my doing).

I do believe that having this choice might be nice, but that the monthly fee is more attractive. And like someone already said, you have more consistency with the monthly pledge. Maybe us Patreons should have the option to make a one time, once a year or whenever they feel like it, flash "donation" just like that. To illustrate: During this lockdown some musical artists I support had no income due to their gigs being cancelled. This means that the Patreon cannot be sufficient enough to support them and their teams (light, sound engineer, etc.) So instead of going for a higher tier, to maybe back down several months later, I might have preferred to be able to give a little financial push. Does it make sense?

On the web browser go to your profile icon (top right corner with your picture in it) > Manage Memberships. Under that it will take you to a page with all your pledges where you can edit how you pledge. Click the "Edit" button. There you can update whether it's monthly or annual. You can also change or add a payment method. Be sure to hit "update" when done. And depending on your tier, be sure the money is in your account before clicking. It will pull it all out within the day. (probably depends on your bank)

Saving money wasn't a consideration for me in being a patron. I do appreciate the thought though. 🙂 It is a new option that likely will grow in popularity over time.

Same questions as all the rest. Makes no difference to me so would prefer to give in whatever way helps you and your team the most.

Probably both. The benefit is that they both get a full year of payments safely, while a monthly subscription could be canceled earlier than after a year. As is with every service where you get it cheaper when you buy a year instead of a month

Yeah, like Paolo said, if we give 16% less, will you receive 16% less as well? ...was the first question that popped up in my mind. I wouldn't want you to get less...
