Maybe it's not that it's moving, but that there is gas underground in all those places, the earth is just loosening up a little at a time.

Hey… Hawaii girl… who grew up on a chain of islands created by the tectonic plate moving over a fixed magma upwelling/release point enough to make an island every half-million years or so… MUCH bigger scale, but moving vent (WRT the earth surface) over a stationary heat source nevertheless. Actually the mechanism has to be way different, but I bet Some of the fluidization parameters and uplift have to be the same

I don't think you actually said in either video whether the train actually made it out in time! I assume it did, or that probably would've been mentioned as a big deal in the video, but it would still be nice to confirm. How much time to spare did it have when it got out?

This was a great video. I'm definitely curious about the civil engineering side of it too. Maybe you could put together a video from the footage that focuses on your conversation with the civil engineer. If you're concerned about how your general audience would receive it, then maybe just try it out on your patrons first 🙂

this was cool. I would love to have seen more details about how they moved the roads/railroads around, and how they actually detected what was going on (different levels of pipes, etc.) I realize showing that (graphics) is more work, but it would bring a lot more to the story. And, later you mentioned exploring more science things out in the world. I would love that - especially since you can bring the perspective of a scientist and go into more details and ask intelligent questions about the underlying science. So many news stories don't even try to explain what's really going on - so you would fill a very needed space. thanks!

You keep minimizing the physics in this video. Yeah, maybe it's more specialized, but it's still physics! Driving down the road: physics. Cooking breakfast: physics! Physics is everywhere! One of my joys is finding the physics in unexpected places.

Interesting video. The mud puddle was very interesting too. But for me, your live streams are at the worst time for me, as I live in Australia, and they're usually between 1am and 4am my time. Anyway, by the sound of it, you'd like to do more of a variety of topics, similar to what Derek does with Veritasium. Keep up the great stuff you're doing. :)
