Dianna health update from Kyle (road to recovery)

I went over to visit Kyle and Dianna yesterday. Unfortunately, she was in a crash again, so I couldn't see her. I got an update regarding her health. There are some more details Ill be posting later, but for right now I figured it would be good to give a small update.

Kyle goes over a simple "road to recovery" for Dianna's health. It's a long road ahead, but feeling hopeful as usual.

Please refrain from spamming links in the comments. We really appreciate everyone's kind inputs!

Comments

I don't expect this to go anywhere, but when I was at my very worse with long covid (where Dianna is now), I would smoke pot now and then. I figured I was probably going to die, so what difference would it make. The pot made me disconnected from how bad I felt. I knew the illness was still there, but my mind was distracted, so didn't pay attention to how bad I hurt. It gave me a well-needed break.

Mary Mc

Prayers the way of both of you!

Vladimir Vega III

I just want to add: I lived through something similar. I had to sit with/care for a girlfriend as she fought against leukemia for the second time. It was dark, it was traumatic, and she eventually lost that battle. It was the hardest thing i have ever been through in my life, but it was also one of the most rewarding things i have ever been able to do for another human being. I dont doubt that Dianna will bounce back, but i also know how hard it is to be a caregiver. Hold in there brother. There will be better times.

Jesse Wallace

Keep your head up Kyle, you are fighting the good fight.

Jesse Wallace

Sending happy, healing wishes to Dianna on her birthday. May the Force be with you. I wish you strength, healing and comfort.

hateful person.

Jim DeArras

No updates in a month so I'm not guessing things are going uphill. Wishing the best for her.

Ben Payne

Stop spamming your lies. What a creep.

Hi. Just wanted to leave this here in case it could help Dianna. Another youtuber, Scotty from "Strange Parts", mentioned that a company called Cognitive FX is trialing a treatment for long covid. The company helped Scotty treat the effects of his concussion, and a variation of the treatment might help other cognitive impairment issues. cognitivefxusa dot com, based in Utah.

Stay strong Dianna and Kyle!

Keep on fighting, keep on pushing. You are a hero to here. Soon recovery to both of you.

Stay strong Kyle.

Just hope and pray she can recover and return soon

Dear Physics Girl,

Paul Rodman

I’ve just joined also. It’s not much but I hope it helps in a small way. Take care. 🤗

Manfred Knorr

Just joined to support both of you through this time. Much love.

Jane Jasper

My wife and I also joined Patreon just to help you guys❤️ We have been care givers for many years. Kyle, hang in there brother we know it's tough!! From experience we have learned that getting as much help as you can is key so that you don't get burned out. Even hiring someone part time so that you can get a break is absolutely necessary. If you can't function and you get sick then it's that much harder to care for your loved one. Best wishes Anthony and Sunrise

Theron Chandler

Love Dianna

Jan

I pray for both of you all the time. My mother is 90 and I have had to provide some care for her so I can relate to what you guys are going through. You can count on my contributions because I hope us fans can help ease the financial worries at least. Much love and support - Captain Chris

From a survivors husband, it is a long journey ...but it is a journey. There are terrible thoughts right now of this existence. But it does get better and it is worth the fight. We were CFS rating severity zero, 35yrs ago, and have been level 50-70 for over 30 years. Able to live a 'near normal' life with caution and care. New drugs and being young can help recovery Dianna do better than that.

Dan

Kyle you are a Real Champion! I can’t fathom the strength you have right now. Hoping for progress! And thank you for doing these updates

Do you have a GoFundMe where we can contribute directly to help?

West coast sites for "specialists": https://www.ocimc.com/services/chronic-fatigue\ There is also an initiative at Stanford: https://med.stanford.edu/chronicfatiguesyndrome.html\ i know everyone has suggestions and it is overwhelming. did a deep dive into the medical literature and that was not helpful. Also looked for centers with interest in this (above). You certainly already know all this but just wanted to give it a go.

Love you all. Prayers for your recovery!

I had Long Covid for most of 2022, and was lucky enough to be one of the first to get a treatment known as a Stellate Ganglion Block, and it worked so well that I could only describe it as a miracle. I sent a pm about it, because I want to be able to provide the contact info for the doctor that gave me the treatment, and answer any questions that anyone that is close with Dianna may have. I wanted to comment this, because I want Kyle to see that message, because I want to provide help if possible

Griffin Drucker

I’ve actually had the Block for Long Covid, back in late August of 2022. I had Long Covid since February 2022, and it put my entire life on hold. I may have been one of the first people in the world to receive the Block for Long Covid, and it worked so well the only accurate term would be a miracle. I’ve been leaving comments and replies on anything that’s been posted on the channel over the past few months, because I wanted to provide Dianna’s family with the information for the doctor that gave it to me, and answer any questions they may have. I had to leave college because of Long Covid, but now in 3 weeks I’ll be completing my first semester back. This doctor gave me my life back. Now I want to give other people the same help I received, because Long Covid is absolutely terrifying. No one can truly understand how agonizing it is unless they’ve experienced it, and I never felt more alone in my entire life, no matter how many people were helping me get through each agonizing day.

Griffin Drucker

Good luck folks. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Andrew Henderson

Hey Dianna & Kyle, I just joined Patreon specifically to support you guys. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for you but I hope you come out of this with great health soon. Praying for strength, health and abundance. Love you PhysicsGirl!!!

Maynor Andino

I just saw this research too and came here to post the same link!

Kees Cook

You both are incredibly courageous. Love in action.

Greta Movassaghi

I don't quite know what to say...I just joined with the most that I can right now. I love Dianna's videos... they are so informative yet understandable. But more than that, its the love of learning, the curiosity, and a spark of excitement that shows thru. I got my daughter hooked on these too... Thank you. I wish you all the strength hope and courage to get thru this.

Comp Dave

Just cheering for both of you!

steve crandall

I just came across this thought of you guys. https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fimmu.2023.1150105/full. Vicky van der Togt posted it on Mastodon (@vickyvdtogt@mastodon.nl). She posted her own recovery story on Mastodon. It’s super early research but I hope it helps or at least allows you to create some connections in the Long Covid research community. Wishing you all the best.

Kyle you are an angel. Thank you foreign there for Dianna. It really warms my heart all the work you are doing for her.

Veronica Marcano Galdos

Hang in there guys :) We love you.

NewQLar

Hi! I've just come across someting that might help! A stellate ganglion block for long covid treatment. Apparently, there's a clinical study trying it for me/cfs that started in march!

Fernando de Teresa

Just joined Patreon to throw in a little help. Will also be praying for Dianna regularly - she's been such a light and inspiration on YouTube through the years, and I'm hoping it will be steady improvement for her from here. Good job taking care of her Kyle - your selflessness is an inspiration to us all.

Timothy Tripp

Kyle your dedication to your partner is beautiful.

You are in my prayers Diana- you are one of the reasons YouTube is worth watching. I love the joy you find and share with us in your work. Good bless!

Just became a patron (just a buck but it’s something) after watching a health update on YouTube. Much love to you all

Kristin Barrick-Shisler

So sorry. Will continue to pray for her recovery. Thanks for these updates.

David Jeroslow

This is the sadest news I’ve heard in a while. I was suffering through long Covid early in the pandemic, and Dianna’s channel was often a source of great comfort to me. I lost my career, my home, my animals and my friends during that time, as no one thought it was a real thing still. It’s been a few years since, and I’ve moved back home to be closer to family and start over. It’s been a long, hard road, but each year it’s gotten a little better, and now I feel like I’m in between 70 and 80 on your chart there. Which I’m pretty sure should be logarithmic. (Lame math joke) I’ll be thinking of you both and sending good vibes your way. Be patient, trust in the process, even if it feels like it’s on a geological time scale. Things, will, get better. One day. So until that day. Best to you both.

Justin Smith

For Diana- as someone who had been working retire from being a philosophy professor due to CFE/Fibromyalgia let me say it’s not over babe. As of last July I couldn’t walk abut in Feb I took a month long trip to NZ during which I summited a peak that was 3500 ft in 3 miles. Took a lot of work and a lot of luck to get there but it can happen. It will happen for you too hon. 💕💕💕

Sally Ferguson

This is devastating. I’m always checking Patreon… hoping for good news. Couldn’t have happened to a better person😭🫶❤️🫶😭

Wishing Dianna the best get well soon. We are all here rooting for you. May you recover to 100% soon so you can return to enjoying your life to the fullest.

You’re my only patreon person I definitely should have given more earlier to you and others and glad to have done so now whoa yeah thanks again as I was just writing on YouTube for keeping us up to date wow fans of all ages and nationalities etc pulling for you Dianna best wishes once again indeed🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🩺🚀🌌☮️💟🤩🤩🤩🌈🌈🌈🗽🗽🗽♾♾♾🌞🌞🌞💯💯💯

Nicholas Thompson

I just wanted to say that I just joined Dianna's Patreon tonight, and the only perk I want -- and probably this goes for all of us who have come to care about Dianna over the years watching her Physics Girl videos -- is for her to get better. I want her to be able to enjoy her days, to be able to do the simple things that she enjoys when she's well. I think of her often and of her family and friends. I'm glad that she knows that so many people care about her and wish her well. - Amelia

Amelia Adele T.

Kyle, I know I am commenting late. I'm wondering about the book How To Be Sick I noticed on your table. Perhaps you've read it, are reading it, or haven't opened it yet... but I was wondering what books/resources have been helpful to you as a caretaker?

Charles Reinmuth

just saw this today on Twitter, hope this could be of help: Electrical stimulation found to revitalize muscle perfusion caused by long COVID https://medicalxpress.com/news/2023-04-electrical-revitalize-muscle-perfusion-covid.html

Thank you for the updates!!!!! I have faith she’ll pull through! 🫶🏻

Sending love to you both. Stay Strong Kyle you are amazing.

She must know we're all here for her. She has a strong spirit, and she will get over it! Especially with this degree of devotion of people around her. Hoping to hear good news soon! 🙏

Mark Farber

She might only be 1% of the way to normal, but I’m 100% behind both of you. Kyle, you’re amazing, and I’m so glad she has you. I pray for a quick recovery for both of your sakes, so you can just enjoy being together and being OK again.

DoctorX17

We all love Diana, and now you too, Kyle. We are all praying for you both.

Tom Murphy

We love you. You will get through.

Tahoe Lake Lake Donner

Kyle… how can we help? I know her insurance is an issue. Is she receiving care from COVID experts under a variety of grants? I am a Missouri lawyer but I don’t do social security work but to me it should be easy to get her SSD benefits and you caregiver benefits. Ssd lawyers only get paid if you get benefits and it comes from the Feds. It is worth pursuing. It can take up to three denials and appeals to get coverage but when you do it is often retroactive..I am not sure to which start date. The sooner you call your lawyer the better. Does Diana get enough residual income from new views of old videos? Would it help to try to make her top ten videos go viral?

Benicia

Post Covid refugee here as well… based on this scale, I’m like a 75 and sometimes feel sorry for myself… I was at the very low end, but it didn’t last that long and need to feel grateful. We got this!

Greg Guthman

How can anyone think that life is back to normal while this can happen to a person. Anytime anyone asks us to go somewhere unmasked or expects us to pretend Covid is over, we tell them your story. Dianna and Kyle: You are NOT forgotten. We are keeping you in our thoughts every day. 💜 Kim and Michael

Kyle you are a much better man than I am. Dianna has brought me and many others knowledge and fun in the sphere of science. I wish for you two the best!

Keep positive thoughts both of you! You got this I’m so glad that you have each other and all of your friends and all of us here on Patreon! We are all sending positive energy, vibes and love for an up turn so that you will start a quick road to recovery! 🥰🥰😘😘♥️♥️

Kimberly Nickerson

Imagine that moment in the future you’re throwing that big recovery party ❤️ keep fighting guys, wish you all the best on that road!

Christoph Nüse

I’m so sorry, hang in there my hopes are with you.

Phillip S

Sorry to hear this. Have you researched red light therapy as a possible tool to add to her recovery efforts?

Chris Bunner

Keep on fighting, and Kyle, you're a freaking saint. One percent at a time.

pho3nixmatt

Kyle, you made a comment about Dianna not being able to get out of bed. Made me wonder about decubitus ulcers, aka bed sores, aka pressure sores. As an independent active 46-year survivor of paraplegia, I have some experience in this subject, and roho cushions can be a lifesaver. I use them with my wheelchair but in bed. I use three, two to support my back, shoulders, and butt, and a large one to support my legs. If supported by the cushion, there is no need to reposition. Yes, they make special versions for beds, but I'm not a fan. I use the high-profile versions intended for wheelchairs for all applications. I love "Physics Girl" and hope she gets her health back.

Richard Morton

Kyle, I'm so glad Dianna has you. I hope Dianna's mom is able to keep helping you. Lots of love to you both.

Kendric Beachey

We’re all here with you. Please transmit our love as well when you hold her hand. But take it in for yourself as well. We’ve knows Dianna’s face through her videos for all this time. But the faces behind and around the camera are so important. Now that we know your face, Kyle, as well as all of you her family and friends, our loved and support go to all of your along with Dianna

J. Andrew Medina

My daughter also struggles with ME/CFS of unknown etiology. Praying for Diana and can’t wait until she gets better and can go back to educating everyone about physics!

Christian Horner

Thank you for the update. I will be hoping to see her number increasing soon. Hugs!

John DeJarnatt

and once the book is published a TED talk would help drive exposure.

Mark F. Hanson

I am suggesting that Diana and her husband write a book similar to My Stroke of Insight which was groundbreaking on the topic of STROKE. Long COVID is a very hot topic and Diana is a very cared for person - her voice and her husband's on thie topic could be fundamental to our understanding of LONG COVID. IMHO

Mark F. Hanson

I pray for Dianna's speedy recovery and back to her old, bubbly self. She is strong, and her strength will help her overcome this.

Teck Wee Kwek

Thank goodness for wet wipes, also the traveler's friend! And thanks for the update in context; that's so helpful. I'm also glad to hear about Kyle's experience, and the conversation with whoever was behind the camera, as this is definitely a group effort and we who love Dianna parasocially need you folks in person to be supported through this for both Dianna's and for your own sakes. I also wonder - have you folks considered gentle massage, lymph massage, like from a professional? And maybe for Kyle, too, who's not getting a normal amount of exercise. The reason for massage is several layers deep: it is comforting if you find a caring person, it moves the lymph just below the skin which is part of the healing and maintenance systems which only gets pumped around by moving your body through space (not happening this week), massage assists the blood system to bring nutrients to and wastes away from the muscles, bones, and organs, including the nerves. The nerves not only send communications from one area to another but they also keep the organs alive by staying connected. But nerves respond to demand, so lessened demand through lack of sensation or movement can create issues, but those problems can be lessened by massage, if active movement is impossible. And best of all, it can feel good and be reassuring, if you find a caring massager. I'm medical but not LMT. I just want you folks to ALL get support possible. Are there funds for massages for both Dianna and Kyle? I'll bet some people would feel invested enough to either volunteer or fund it. Friends of mine who got LMT degrees had a certain number of hours of practice they needed to graduate. Why not on you guys? Kyle could be the guinea pig (so tough, trying out different LMTs!) The Pacific College of Health and Sciences (PacificCollege.edu 619-574-6909) is in your area. I wish I lived closer but this is all I've got. My best, best wishes and hopes for a timely turn around on this situation. You guys are great! Oh, and don't forget humor: if there's anything, ANYTHING that makes you folks laugh, get more of it, however dark the humor needs to be! Somedays, that's all that got me through chronic pain and lack of function.

Mary MacNicol

Get better soon!

Douglas Needham

God bless you Kyle;Im so glad for even a spark of healing for her;you guys are going to make it. i have faith.

Jonathan Hart

There’s a ton of books, just haven’t gained mainstream interest (because it’s underfunded, under researched, and most people including doctors have never heard of it nor believe it can exist… of course a lot of progress has been made on this in the last couple years due to the influx of ME/CFS patients due to COVID.) Through the Shadowlands, The Puzzle Solver, and Brave New Medicine are all books that deal with someone’s journey through ME/CFS. There’s also several documentaries like Unrest and a DW documentary on YouTube.

Katie Mae

I'm a 77 year old supporter and believer in Dianna. I don't know if this suggestion is useless, but people can hear sound even while resting orsleeping. Some people have used self-affirming tapes to help them deal with various problems (weight, addiction, sickness, etc). Humor can be very helpful to both caregiver and patient. Maybe you or some friends could read jokes or funny stories over the phone for a couple of minutes, and she could listen. In my own battles with illnesses, I have found stand up humor to be very healing. Just a thought. All the best

Michael Coolen

My half brother was hospitalised with covid here in Sweden. Oxygen mask and everything. They tried an experimental procedure where they use light chemo therapy and that sorta solved the problem, sure he doesn't have the same lung capacity but besides that he can do everything he did before. Here's an article, use translation plugin: https://lakartidningen.se/opinion/debatt/2020/04/forsok-med-lagdoscytostatika-vid-svar-covid-19-bor-overvagas/ Either way she is all about science so let's use science to cure her. Also meaby look into superfood to give her like chaga te powder or matcha te. Besides my halft borther previously sick in covid, a close friend had blood cancer (full recovery with chaga te). Also had several people with cancer in my family and 2 things makea different in all above mention cases. How much the patient fight to recover, what the patient eats. I also have a pgd as a medical engineer and usually reads up on stuff in general. Also try to avoid sugar as that is sorta food for bacteria, exception is if it's extremely hard to eat food. Also ask for blood transfusion or similar solution if she doesn't eat or drink well. And don't wait to long if you see signs like that, if a person doesn't drink in 3 days for example they die. And finally I just want to send her the best of wishes and hope she get's well soon.

Robert

You are both in our hearts, minds, and prayers. Stay positive and believe that “this too shall pass.”

Christopher Keller

this horrible experience is worth a BOOK -- like My Stroke Of Insight was for stroke victims

Mark F. Hanson

Billions of blessing you guys. Diana will recover!

Rafael Rincon

A good friend of mine had exactly the same, and... it took a few years, she is allmost totally recovered by now. So.. keep the fight!

Alex Vergara

Keep the strenght!

Alex Vergara

Is she regularly taking pro-biotics, particularly acidophilus ? I hope so. I’m not a certified medical professional, but I do have my personal experiences with what I know to work; even if it takes months. Keeping her - and all of you - in our thoughts and prayers. That’s always a good thing. All the best - to you, and through you - always.

Glenn Reuther

All my best to both of you!

David Uyesato

Perhaps. But just in case.

Kieran Le Cam

It sucks, seeing Dianna so low. Hang in there, Dianna; I'm sure recovery is coming. And keep up the good work, Kyle.

Andy Callaway

Thank you for the update. I hope you're taking care of your mental health too. When a loved one is that sick, it's all too easy to feel guilty about putting your needs first. When you're on a flight, there's a reason they tell you to put your oxygen mask on first before helping someone else. You're no good to anyone if you can't function. Not that you need it, but you have permission from this Kyle, so it's almost like giving yourself permission. I hope Dianna's days at zero are done. We all miss her enthusiasm for life and science, but I would live happily without another video ever if that would guarantee her getting back to 100%. Best wishes to you both and the people around you helping.

Kyle S Frandsen

Good luck Kyle. Hang in there and make sure you get enough rest. I hope you and Dianna can get outside for a few minutes every day. Before long we'll have spring weather and flowers to look forward to.

dryfrog

As a former (and future) caregiver for a severely ill person, I know what you're going through, Kyle. I pray that you're getting a little respite here and there. You need to stay healthy. And sending soooooo much love for Dianna so she can improve. Keep the faith, both of you!

Sabrina

Kyle..you are an awesome human being, Dianna’s angel…… and ya’ll absolutely found each other for a reason. Keep doing an incredible job. Praying every day she makes recovery strides. ❣️🙏🙌🏻💯💪🏼

Bo Williams

weird, there is no sound in the video for me? how are you all watching this? EDIT: nvm, its something on my end.

Thomas Herzog

My wife Olga and I are praying for you both. We care. We wish you fortitude a hope

Juan Gómez-Vélez

Please get better physics girl! You’re such a beautiful person inside and out. You have a beautiful soul and a smart brain. You taught me a lot about physics. I hope you get better.

Marvin Tran

So difficult to hear how low she is on the scale...from someone so vibrant and active and a major influence on everyone here. Kyle has shown nothing but pure love during this entire ordeal; Kyle, I hope you are taking care of yourself as well! Dianna is a fighter and we all support her in our oown way. I only wish I could take some of the burden from her.

Brian Burleigh

Thank you for the update. I am looking forward to Dianna making videos again. Thanks Kyle.🙏

Ed Bartkiewicz

Keeping you in my prayers ❤

Banter Maestro

I am fairly active on the local NextDoor. I usually have no reason to disbelieve any of the claims of any of the members but also have no way to verify them.

Mark Dakins

Stay strong. Hope recovery is faster than expected.

Ken Martinez

Thanks for keeping us informed. I pray for Dianna (and my wife daily).

Jeff Pope

Kyle, you're doing an amazing job. Hang in there, sir. You are the most important person for Dianna now. Like Churchill said during WWII, never, never, never, never give up. Prayers.

Don

I don't look forward to these updates at all but regardless thank you, Levi, for bringing them to us.

Howard Simons

3yrs disabled with Long Covid. I’ve been at 0% too. I have faith that together, in time, you will find the right meds for her, and her systemic inflammation will slowly calm. Meds take time to work. This marathon-level patience is brutal, but please remind her she owes nothing to anyone but herself. And Kyle, you know when she’s better, if the roles were ever reversed she will be there for you. Statistically most men wouldn’t do what you’re doing. You are special though. And your love together is a rare triumph to be celebrated. Holding hands means the world right now.

Centralperk

It’s not anxiety. It’s MECFS / Long Covid.

Centralperk

You are so kind for sharing this with them. From a fellow long hauler

Centralperk

Kyle, Diannah is so fortunate to have you. I totally understand how challenging and exhausting this is for you. Your life is "on hold" as well as her's. Please know that you are so important to her right now. I send you strength and understanding to continue. When she makes a full recovery, that will be as much to your credit as to her or her medical team. Thank you.

Larry Farmer

I think he’s just trying to educate people since most of the population has zero frame of reference as to how debilitating this illness actually is.

Centralperk

😳 “claim”? … if you were my friend I wouldn’t tell you about my illness. Millions have LC/MECFS in the US. It’s very hard to “get over it.” 3yrs disabled for me.

Centralperk

This is such a good perspective and questions to ask oneself as a non-MECFS/Long Covid person. It’s very hard for people to comprehend until you’re there at 1% operating capacity. 3yrs disabled with LC/MECFS.

Centralperk

Still sending Love and Strength you all of you! I was a caregiver for my Mom (Alzheimer's) for a year, and I have several friends who are suffering from various CF issues, including 2 who also seem to hover around 0-3. I gave updates on my Mom every day on Facebook. When a friend asked me why, I realized that I was doing it not so much to keep people updated, as it was a way to help me focus on the positive aspects of each day. I salute you and everyone who is part of taking care of Diana, and especially Diana, for doing what needs to be done to stay strong and sane, and positive!

Last Knight 61

I think you can probably meet the criteria for 10 or even 20 in a wheelchair if that makes it feel less intimidating. Do you have ramp access to your home atm?

Sam L.

I keep hoping they’ll stumble upon a miracle drug that’s already out there, being used for other reasons. Like how ketamine has become a wonder drug after years of anesthesia and recreational use.

Morgan Abernathy

Thanks so much for these updates. I think about Diana often with the hope that all of our thoughts for her recovery will give her strength.

Pippin Lowe

I end up sleeping ALL day on Monday because of my CF. I have enough energy to make food, eat, watch a cartoon and back to sleep. The emotional pain gives it all a negative feedback loop, I'm frustrated so I get more exhausted. Take all means necessary to just put a smile on your face every day. A funny joke, it does not matter. Even if it makes you tired to laugh it will be a healing rest... =] (That's goes for everyone really) Love you all... R.

Ryan Mooney

You are a hero, Diana. Fight the good fight.

Janine Terrill

Kyle did the doctors try to put her on anti anxiety treatment especially the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor SSRI type ? Maybe her fatigue and symptoms are a snowballing mental anxiety that she might have developed at the start of her ordeal. I suffer from GAD and i shared many of Dianna's symptoms, those got mild and disappeared after 4 weeks of treatment

Shadi Abboud

You two are amazing indeed. Also a caregiver here, and I know it's hard on both of you right now. I'm hoping these things are signs of recovery. Wishing you the best.

WarrenPeace89

I'm always so hopeful when I see there's an update. I can't even imagine how discouraging this is to you both, day after day. Know that there are many of us sending love and healing energy to you both daily.

Sue L’Hommedieu

We stand with you and beside you, Diana and her family and friends, we are here if only in spirit and donation, we are here because she is a hero and you are fantastic for your updates and your devotion. Thank you both for being the wonderful people you are.

Jason L

Keep holding her hand. You guys are amazing ❤️

Sarah McKelvey

Sending you all my love and empathy. Not being able to care for yourself makes you feel awful. Worthless. A burden. I know my biggest worry has always been my caregivers when laid out by chronic fatigue. I believe in you both.

Veronica Lacquement

Wow... that really puts things in perspective. Thing is, we are all different so it can take a few weeks or months. Best wishes.

Víctor Sánchez Ramírez

I hope that some of her family shows up sometimes at least... And I really hope someone is giving Kyle a break too... I admire you, Sir, not sure I have that in me if we were swapped out... I can only hope that this ends well for all involved!

Dale Allen Platt

I can’t even begin to imagine what she is going through. Thank you for the update.

Bradley B

Best wishes, am grateful for updates.

Jason Boyd

I expect she's not getting much sun. Maybe some vitamin D3 would help her out? That helped me out quite a bit at one point when I was really dragged down.

Garance A Drosehn

Sending you love, Kyle and Diana.

Trang Nguyen

Hang in there, Kyle! Love and prayers to the whole team supporting Dianna right now.

MPotter

Praying for her recovery and the strength of her friends and family to see her through this.

Mickey Parent

Best wishes to Dianna and company.

Bob

Sending love, I hope she is better soon!

Shawn Rudolph

Kyle, thank you so much for your care.

You got this. Stay strong and stay optimistic. Thanks for the update! Oh, also, apparently the FDA is holding an online public meeting on April 25th to hear patient perspectives on the impact of Long COVID, including "health effects and daily impacts, current approaches to treatment, and clinical trial participation". Maybe this is a good opportunity? Absolutely - when I started to get better it was so easy to overdo it. Assume you have maybe half the energy that you feel like you do. And remember you have absolutely no energy reserve, so you must stop well before you feel tired.

Katherine Wolfe

Rooting for you all!

Pam McClure

Knowing that sometimes, she has some energy, even if it's for a short period of time is enough for me to feel optimistic. At least she can feel better. I think those moments are going to come more and more often and last longer and longer. Eventually, the crashes are not going to be as bad and eventually, she's going to be on her feet. Thanks for the update.

Martin Rioux

All my love to both of you! Anything her fans can do to hold your hand whilst you hold hers, i'm sure we're willing to give. It must be an almighty task but you're doing amazing. Every day is a step closer to recovery. xx

Simon Tapley

All the best wishes from the bottom of my heart for her recovery🤒. I enjoy so much watching her old videos again. Like the interview with the head Ligo Observatory Michael Landry. I really miss her 🥺

anti.gravity.in.motion

Huge love to Kyle for holding her hand. So meaningful.

Heidi A

Even if she can't leave her bed, I hope soon she has the energy to do a video to just say hi to us :(

༒Gorm Auslander༒

Nothing but love and good vibes for you all, I wish there was more I could do than that. 😔💜

Douglas Boyle

Another Patreon (also a YouTube content provider) I support had an acute vaccine injury, which yielded similar symptoms. Things that helped him tremendously: regular hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy, peptide treatments, anti-inflammatory treatments, and diet changes. He spoke to congress at a hearing on the matter. I can provide more information if requested. I continue to hope for a full recovery for Dianna!

Jer

hopefully she can at least appreciate how many people ,whom she's touched over the years, are wishing her a full recovery!

TomT

I've never seen this scale before. It does help give me a perspective on where Dianna is at. It is heartbreaking to see her like this! I currently suffer from severe chronic-pain due to nerve damage on my ribs due to an injury 6 years ago. I was at the bottom of that scale in the beginning, though it wasn't long before I started to improve a little after surgery. However, now 6 years later, I hover between 20 and 30. I have good days and I have bad days. I really feel for everyone involved;it is very exhausting, for everyone! I pray Dianna makes a speedier recovery!

Scott Reynolds

I can send flowers 💐 to you both, let me know, Steven

We are rooting for Dianna's recovery but Kyle, we are also rooting for you too. Being a care giver is hard work but you are a good man being able to appreciate even the smallest of improvements. Every journey begins with one step... or in Dianna's case 1%. Let's hope for many more percents soon :)

Robert Evans

It is a long way to 10, but let's celebrate the 1 or 2s now. I can hardly imagine how hard it must be for Kyle. Sending lots of love and good vibes to Dianna and hope we can see her smile again, soon. This would already be an upgrade. Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Christoph S.

Continuing to root for all of you! I'm so blown away by the resilience and dedication you're all showing, and I'm sure this in no small way helps to keep Dianna going too. You're all doing wonderful things, and I hope you all get to a day soon where Dianna starts moving right up that scale.

Cole Peters

I now see why Dr's are adamant about talking about time to recovery and other 'unknowns' that we so desperately want to know. Being diagnosed with MS and one month remission from lung cancer, I had so many questions that I felt never got answered, but I did find out that, in time, your hopes do come to pass .. hugs 'n' stuff to everyone.. until the next update.

Andisen

Blessings and best wishes to BOTH Kyle and Dianna! Gratitude to each for your care and efforts for each other. You both continue to teach us within your current abilities. Thank you!

Steve & Lorraine Richards

Praying daily for a full recovery🙏🏻

Stephen Barr

Hoping beyond all hope that she is on a path to recovery. My heart is with her!!💕💕

Tim Wingert

Thank you so much for the update! I hope Dianna reaches 10 on the scale as soon as possible. Dealing with Lyme disease in my mid-teens, I was at a 0 on that scale for many months, and getting to 10 was indeed a huge victory, which I wish for Dianna soon. I'm really rooting for her, her family, and her recovery. I wish I could help.

Jean-Philippe Suter

Wow, I've never seen that scale before… I've had ME/CFS for eight years, and since I only leave the house a few times a year, I suppose according to that scale I've been at 10 for four years now. There's such variability among us who are housebound though. There are other scales I like better, that provide more nuance for ME/CFS like the HFME, CFIDS disability, and Action for ME. Might be easier to measure progress on those, and also might be a bit more reassuring that she’s not so low on those scales. Different activities have such different effects on our bodies, I hope that you all are able to determine those more to hopefully reduce the push/crash cycle. (E.g. even though it's so nice to see people even for a minute, it might not be worth it right now). I know it's so hard though, especially early in illness and especially when your energy envelope is so small (and your world feels so small and disconnected and you're bored out of your mind.) I hardly ever crash anymore, but I crashed frequently for the first five years of my illness (although it took me 4 to even hear about ME/CFS and begin to understand what was going on). It's a lot of trial and error in the beginning. And it's definitely not easy, but it is possible. It's a difficult journey, but you all are definitely not alone. I'm glad you have so much support around you. I'm sure you have a ton of resources, but please feel free to reach out if I can answer any questions or anything.

Katie Mae

One step at a time.

Richard

Much love to you both.

Sarah Kaylor

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Diana. And, here's to you, Kyle, for taking such good care of her. She's so lucky to have such a caring husband. I wish I could do more than just give money.

William ODell

Looking forward to the day that we see Physics Girl on camera again, educating and entertaining us. Kyle, keep strong. I can't imagine what you're enduring. Being strong is hard, we all recognize what you are doing.

Paul Ljucovic

Wishing you the best. I've been thinking lately about the long road our kids had to health at birth now that they're heading to college. Visiting them in the hospital was the only life we knew for a few months. I hope you have a moment when this is a distant memory. I'm sure the love and devotion you've given her has brought her this far. She's given her audience so much over the years. Stay strong.

Dan Wigodsky

❤️

Jill

I am so deeply grateful for the vulnerability you all demonstrate, because this a too common untold story. My deepest and best hopes and thoughts. I'm not religious, but will light a candle and reflect for Dianna before Tenebrae, if just to put out gratitude for what she has done and her fight now. Much love.

Seán

Hang in there, Kyle. We're all pulling for Dianna AND you ... and Levi!

Peter Laws

Exactly this focus on the next goal not the end result.

Mike

She's so lucky to have you folks caring for her. Stay strong. I really hope things start to get better soon.

Garry Myers

Hugs and love. It will get better because it has to. So it will. Much love.

Cathy Bayne

Thank you for the update. Great to hear that she had a good week last week, hope that the next good week comes sooner, is a bit better & lasts longer. Step by step is the only way she will come back to us. Well done Kyle, you are her lifeline

Peter Chandler

Kyle seems to be focusing on the realistic which is another way of saying he's focusing on the negative. Kyle, please, don't look at the 100. Look at the 10. Aim for the 10. When you hit the 10, aim for the 20. One foot in front of the other. You can do more than be there. You can change the course of fate by acting. By I troducing fighting spirit into Diana, into yourself. Covid is biology, but so are you. You, your mind, your willpower, are capable of fighting. Relieve yourself of stress that weakens your system. Push yourself, when you have the energy, to train your body to fight. You are the captain of your body. Sure the soldiers know what to do, but they need a pep talk, guidance, hope, every now and again. Fighting is how you do that. Fight. Rest. Fight. Rest. Not rest. Rest. Rest. Rest. Introduce the fight! I feel like for fear of being rude, people are not telling you to push yourself further than you already are. You were handed a shit situation, but you still have to push more. More than others. And it's not fair. But you gotta do it anyway!

Kieran Le Cam

Please take care of YOU, Kyle....and know that so many friends and strangers are sending love, hugs, healing vibes, and good juju. I know in my bones Dianna will emerge from this nightmare!!💜 #covidsucks

Susan Schaible

Thank you for helping her so much.

Daniel A Decker

I wish I had advice to give but all I can say is that I know several people who have had (or at least claim to have had) long COVID. Except for Dianna I think all of them have gotten over it. Hopefully a light at the end of this tunnel will appear soon.

Mark Dakins

Thank you for the update. Y'all remain in my frequent prayers.

Dave Burton

Kyle: You are Dianna rock! Saying a prayer for both of you.

Gordon Hamnett

Have you heard of or tried an Earthing blanket/pad? You plug it into a grounded outlet & it helps you get the frequencies of the ground (Earth). It has proven very healing for ppl - mainly with inflammatory states.

Kat

Hope she will get well soon, i wouldn't wish my worst enemy to end up like this

Areg Ghazaryan

I didn't fathom it for myself until it happened. Over 5 years now, still recovering. It is a distinct and real hell on earth, and I pray for Dianna and all of us battling me/cfs! We're all mostly to completely underhelped medically and deserve far more help. Now that I fell here and hopefully climb out, I'm eager to be alive again on the day the internal heaviness is fully liberated from my entire being. May more understanding for this and all illnesses and help come for all🌟

Anna Bender

My heart feels so heavy knowing the both of you are in this situation. I am very grateful for what I have learned from Dianna and will be thinking about and wishing her a slow but sure recovery. Thanks for updates and Thank God she has a husband that cares for her so much.

Terence Bailey

Love and prayers from Auntie Liz on Kauai.

Liz Kauai

We are hopeful she has turned a corner at the %1 and only improves from here !

Gregory Higgins

XOXOXO

Shane

Difficult road ahead but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep soldiering on, Great job Kyle, stay positive, hope to see you soon Dianna

Edward Bacon

Hoping for a complete recovery. I spent a solid year at 20 from long Covid, and am now at 70. Haven’t been above 80 in decades, though.

Deirdre Saoirse Moen

Thank you so much Kyle. Never underestimate the power of your support. I have been very ill/injured for months at a time before and didn't have nearly the level of support you have given, and it makes such a huge difference!

Dyany G Munson

Thanks for sharing this update and staying the course to support her when it’s so difficult for her to function after a crash. Y’all are the true Guardians of the Galaxy. 🪐

Tom Schroeder

ok... ok.. breath... one step at a time.

Jeff Greenlee

It's just so hard to even fathom for the average person. Like what's the worst you've ever felt when being sick, where do you rank? Probably a 50? 60? Reminding us that it's the difference between want and able. Even during a bad cold flu you might not WANT to do anything, but you COULD.

Jon Davis

Thanks so much for the update, we are all keeping her in our thoughts I'm sure. Stay strong, both of you <3

Lee Perry

Same thought about that scale "Wow, 10 seems so far away..." but glad to hear she's not at 0.

Ballookey Klugeypop

Always thinking of her and while I know & totally understand not everyone believes in prayers, I’m keeping her in my prayers and always sending positive thoughts her way. I’m 51 and never got to follow my passion of science. When I found her on YouTube I was instantly hooked. Here was a young woman who loves science & physics as much as I do. It’s going to be slow but I just know she’s going to come back and keep doing her thing….and I can’t wait!! Stay strong Dianna & Kyle, you have lots of us thinking of you 💛🌼

Linda Cobarruvias

I'm praying for Diana's recovery!

Marcelo Gouveia

Keep it up Kyle, you are like an air balloon for her, trying to lift her from deep hole.

Mohavior

Scale seems logarithmic. We're still here for all of you, if you need anything... Simone's message was very helpful.

Scott Sackrider

I hope Dianna is keeping in tune with the evolving science on this. I'm sure she's overloaded with advice. So, I hesitate to throw this out, but, the intestinal flora is a possible factor. I hope someone investigates these for her.

Lawrence Tate

Glad to hear there is a plan, it's going to be a hell of a journey, but I wish the best for all of you through it.

Ian Date

Appreciate the update!

Jon

Having a plan is great!

Suzanne Strickland

Does anybody else semi-panic when the notification text cuts off at "Unfortunately ..."? 😂 Glad to hear things are hopeful!

quartertone

Thoughts and positive vibes going out to Dianna and Kyle.

Dennis Weddig

Stay strong Kyle 💪, come back Dianna 🙏

Pacing! V important especially early on.
