Though much of what you may be making is fantasy where trees can be metallic teal in color, don’t assume that you are stuck with earth tones when coloring your map. There are tons of colors in nature that you can easily incorporate into your maps. Take some time to go through the below images for ideas & inspirations. While you’re at it, note how each image makes you feel about the landscape you’re looking at. Does it seem inviting? A place you’d love to camp? A place you should avoid? A mystical place where you’d love to visit? Those feelings are often conveyed though color and that’s a key point in creating maps that help tell your story.
