"Now I know this photo doesn't look particularly impressive, but I thought I'd share it with the concept behind it.
You see, this was how I spent my birthday in 2012.
I spent the weekend baking brownies - 850 of them, to be specific.
I turned 43 that year, and made a pan of brownies for each year.
Then rather than eat all of them (yes I seriously considered it!), instead I spent a full day delivering them around town to people who deserved appreciation - the local fire department, the local police department, the local hospital ER staff, the Habitat for Humanity people, the SPCA, you get the idea.
Giving 'gifts' made for a tiring, but enormously fulfilling, birthday weekend."
