So I got Sonic CD on the Sega CD, and the US boss music is CREEPY. There's this evil laugh, and then dissonant sounding steel keys... not too bad when you're fighting Eggman... but Sonic CD ALSO has cheat codes in the sound test, some of them being weird art. There's one where Sonic is merged with a Batman like character, drawn in dark knight style, and another with a message in Japanese, that also has a creepy old-man sonic background and signed by "Majin" (the devil) both screens play the creepy US boss music and I had nightmares as a kid when finding these in a cheatcode book. probably the origin for a good number of peoples fascination with creepypasta Steam has them in their forum here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=833162717

These days, it's just Completionist/Beard Bros and Chuuggaaconroy... almost everything else I consume on YouTube are channels focused on games music (e.g., 8-Bit Big Band, BGOllie, etc.) I have way less time to keep up with YouTube (and TV) than I did in my 20s, so these are just the channels that have kept me coming back. Either their content is occasional and quick/easy to digest—like the music channels—or they're channels that feel like they respect my time, and channels that if I "fall behind" on new episodes, don't feel like a slog to get caught up. Instead, it's just a vibe of, "Man, when things get less crazy, I'm looking forward to binging the last month of Beard Bros."
