I totally get why you wouldn't want to use any of the online features (especially if you're not worrying about completion), but they really can be helpful as other players can leave markers that help with some of the more well hidden secrets, so that's always an option if you get super stuck. (It's only as invasive to the experience as the ghost/player marker features in Dark Souls.)
