Next week we will begin our series closing out the Hunger Games trilogy, but before then we have some catching up to do. We chat about life, Star Trek, and treats before checking in on the wailing and gnashing of teeth going on in the various wings of the Wizarding World fandom. Or is it the Harry Potter fandom again? No joke, the branding apparently changed like an hour before we recorded this--presumably to get ready for the HBO show that's going to have actors attached to it any day now. We chat about adaptation, rumors, and of course check in with the subreddit to read some of their wishes.

2024-10-22 23:53:13 +0000 UTCit’s so fascinating to me that a TV show could be used to do some rewriting of harry potter (if JK fell out of her treehouse anyway lol) like making our main characters have any personality at all or some of the stupider plots, and all these redditors can think of is mapping out how many episodes each book will be. I yelled in my car when I heard 150 minutes for the final episode

2024-10-19 07:07:27 +0000 UTCThe subreddit for the show is so weird. It's a lot of those "my outline for the series" posts, but even more racists trying not to get banned for racism. And people keep posting non-binary fancasts for Tonks, and then someone in the comments has to awkwardly (or rudely/offensively) be like, "Uh, I don't think they would be in this show." My favorite post was someone sharing a screencap of a facebook post from a RuPaul's Drag Race fanpage claiming to be an official cast list, asking people if it was real because they were in tears at the idea that Edward Bluemel (the guy from My Lady Jane) would be playing Snape. Stuff like that is why I can't stop reading that sub.

It's actually pretty clean as it's the end of a chapter, and it might be cool to reflect on that, but I also don't want to make that decision for you if you guys wanted to try and guess where it is or something
