A New Kitten Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Weiss lingered, falling in and out of consciousness during the movie. Thankfully, Blake saved her coco every time before it could fall to the ground. Every time she woke, Weiss felt a little colder. She got colder, and it pressed her to cling closer to the comfort that was Blake. The faunus was warm. Warm and she smelled… Weiss couldn’t get enough of it. She tried to restrain herself from sniffing up and down Blake too much, but she felt rather certain that it was a hopeless battle. Inevitably, no matter how hard she tried to focus on something else, she found herself pressed closer and closer to Blake with her nose buried against the heavenly scented Owner. It wouldn’t have been so bad, but the closer she pushed, the more Blake seemed to pull away. For the time being, Weiss just tried to ignore that and dismiss it as being a side effect of how cold she was.

The Kitten would have been more than happy to subside on just the coco and her owner’s warmth, but Blake demanded she eat something. Weiss could vaguely remember whining and pouting at Blake’s insistence, but it didn’t get her much of anywhere. Blake was nice enough to make Weiss whatever she felt she could stomach tho, so Weiss requested mac and cheese. It was the only thing she could think of that would manage to be comforting and tasty enough to get down. The true tragedy of it was that cooking meant Blake had to leave the couch. Weiss mourned the loss of her Owner’s warmth, but Blake set her up with the heating pad and gently placed it over Weiss’s tummy. It did a lot to help even if it wasn’t an honest replacement for Blake’s warmth.

Owner looked worried when she returned and checked Kitten’s temperature again, but she didn’t do anything about it, so Weiss figured it must not have been too bad. She delivered a nice bowl of mac and cheese bolstered with some chicken and a nice crunchy topping. Weiss remembered two things about the meal. It was good, and it disappeared. Well, that and then that in its wake, she quickly fell asleep again.

When Weiss woke, Owner was gone. It wasn’t until she’d been crying and whining for her Owner like the lonely Kitten she was that she realized it’d even started. It took a moment, but Blake rushed to her side.

“It’s alright Kitten. I’m, here.” Blake quickly reassured.

Weiss whimpered.

“I was just getting some of your dust. We forgot about it earlier.”

Weiss nodded weakly without a word. A little of the dust sounded nice to take the edge off, to calm her hectic mind, freezing body, and searing womb.

“Open up.” Blake requested and pulled out a small folded paper with shavings of the dust before bringing it to Weiss’s lips.

The Kitten was more obedient than ever, opening her mouth eagerly and initiating her aura to activate the drug. It helped a good bit, but the small dose wasn’t enough to calm all her pain. “M- more.” Weiss whined.

“No Kitten. Not today. Maybe some more tomorrow. We’ll see how you’re doing then.

“M- more!” Weiss demanded harsher.

“No Kitten.” Blake repeated.

Weiss whined and whimpered, a truly pitiful sight.

“NO.” Blake barked cold enough to shut Weiss up. “No Kitten. I don’t want you relying on it. Especially not for this.”

“B- b- bu… ‘m your… drug ‘dicted whore.” Weiss grumbled out in what she certainly thought to be perfect and proper english.

Pain struck through Blake’s heart. She could remember forcing Weiss to call herself that weeks ago… but- but that had been back when she still believed Weiss actually voted for that heinous bill- or at least, when she was still successfully tricking herself into believing that. “No Kitten. Just… no.”

Weiss was in and out for the rest of the day. Her body was going through so many things as of late, and she didn’t have the energy to stay up for long. She couldn’t even really stay awake long enough to find her Owner when she realized Blake had left the couch again. She wasn’t sure if she whined and kneened again for Blake or not, but if she hadn’t, she regretted it. She regretted it because she missed her Owner.

Eventually, Weiss woke back in her room, but with a heater placed in the corner and keeping it warmer than the upstairs had been. Blake had been kind enough to drag the blankets down with Weiss, and most appreciated of all, the heating pad as well. Weiss certainly loved all that, she was thankful for what Blake had done to ensure she’d be alright, but none of it really made up for Blake’s absence. Pain had only worsened. Weis had never had any cycles so painful before and Kitten could think of only two things that might help. The dust drug and Blake’s warmth. Oh how she longed and yearned for both. It would be heavenly to be fed a nice crystal of the drug as she curled up in Owner’s lap and got her ears and tail played with. Weiss would have willingly forfeited any claim to the Schnee fortune if only she could be kept in a lifetime supply of either Owner’s pets or the dust. Ideally both, but she would have settled for either.

Once more Weiss found herself keening for Blake without realizing. But… for the first time… Owner never came. Weiss cried louder, leaning into how she wished to cry out for Owner. It went on until Weiss’s voice began to give out, and still, no matter how she keened, whined, or called, Owner was nowhere to be seen. Begrudgingly, Weiss pulled herself from bed. She had to replace her pad again anyways. Everything ached, and her body retaliated against her for daring to move, but Weiss slugged herself through the motions. With cold seeping in, Weiss forced herself back upstairs.

Blake stood, staring intently down at a plate of eggs that had long since overcooked and seemed to be about to start smoking.

Weiss wasn’t sure what was going on, but she felt growingly concerned. If Blake had been standing right there, so close to the stairs… how coiled she not have heard? If she did hear… then came the much scarier question. How could she not have come? “Blake?” Weiss sheepishly questioned.

“Ha! Oh! Uugh! Yes! I- Weiss! Yes.” Blake jumped and Weiss’s new ears fell.

“I- is something wrong?”

“No! No? No! Why would you think anything's wrong? Everything’s fine- except those eggs! Sorry! I was making us some breakfast.” Blake lied poorly.

“I was calling- well…” Weiss couldn’t bring herself to honestly describe how she knew she sounded. “I made a hollar.”

“Oh- I- I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you.” Weiss wasn’t in top shape, but she felt it painfully obvious that Blake was still lying. Extra painful because frankly, knowing Blake was lying to her hurt.

“Oh, ok.” Weiss pretended she was alright; that she hadn’t caught Blake in her lie.

“Did… did you… want to watch some more movies today?”

Blake turned back to her eggs and started dealing with the dirty pan to restart her attempt at breakfast. “I’m not so sure, maybe later? I have some work I have to do?” Blake almost sounded like she was questioning her lie.

“Oh? Work? What do you do outside of the White Fang?”

“Just stuff…”

“Oh? Ok…” Weiss couldn’t believe how desperate she felt; how far she’d sunk. “Could… could you use any company? I’ve been really tired lately, so, I promise I’ll be quiet.”

“Uugh, I don’t know that you’d want to. There’s not really any room at my desk except for by my feet, and…” Blake trailed off and finished with a shrug.

Weiss’s gut twisted, and not just because her body was actively rejecting a part of itself. She wanted to curl up at Blake’s feet. She actually wanted to rest there and curl up while Blake casually did her work. She wanted to kiss and lick gently at Blake’s feet to bother and tease her; bother her just enough to get her attention every once in a while. She didn’t just want it, but she was about to request it. “That’s… that’s alright. I’m fine with that. S- sounds kind of nice.”

“Oh, Kitten. No. It’s all cramped there, and you wouldn’t like it, and…” Blake again couldn’t actually finish her lie.

“But you just said that was the only place-” Weiss deflated and simply gave up. “Alright. In that case I’m going to go back downstairs. If-” Weiss made the mistake of allowing a moment’s pause and Blake pounced on it, replying and taking over her.

“Aww, sorry Kitten. But, that’s probably for the best. I put the heater down there so you didn’t get too cold. Take care tho.”

“If yo-” Weiss opened her mouth again only to be cut off.

“Oh, and I hooked it up so you get the better channels down there too. So you’re not missing any movies by staying down there or anything.”

“Yeah.” Weiss slowly began to break. “If- if you want to spend some more time together, come on down to my room, ok?” She sniffled.

“Yup! Will do, but I’m supposed to be busy today, so don’t wait up.”

“Mhmm… I’ll try not to.” The exhausted woman wiped her face clean, turned, and fought to save her tears till they could be hidden in the privacy of her bed.

Weiss tried to soothe herself as best she could. She tried to calm herself and get her mind off of Blake and whatever the hell was going on with her. She tried and tried, and every time she tried, she failed. At every step, her mind slipped back to a longing for Blake. It continued even when Blake came down to drop off Weiss’s lunch. The faunus once more ignored and dismissed her. Blake was kind enough to give her another shaving of the dust after checking her temperature, but it was only enough to effectively taunt her with the relief she wanted. Since when had Owner become stingy about the drug! Blake used to like to keep her high and blown out. What the hell changed? Then, the toxic thought spawned in her mind. The genesis and replication of the toxic thought began to spring in her, to crack and initiate the break in Weiss’s final bastion of comfort.

Could it be just another of Blake’s games? Just another trick? Another tool to break her? It couldn’t be? Could it? Blake wasn’t that cruel… right?

Weiss tried to stay brave, to stave off those thoughts and believe that everything be alright; that Blake would return and be her loving Owner eager to give her comfort. She tried, but between pain, shame, stress, fear, and too many memories of her own family pretending to be kind to get what they wanted, Weiss was fighting a losing battle. Pain and fear ate away at her, one nibble at a time till she felt like little more than a carcass of herself; filled only of all the things she associated with the grimm. Fear, pain, negativity, anxiety, and despair… that was all she had left when Blake returned.

Weiss had only enough energy left in her to prop herself up in bed. “B- Blake?” She tried to muster actual hope, but what she managed felt only like the ghost of it.

“I heated up some of that mac and cheese you liked yesterday. Would you rather me drop it off on the table or do you wanna eat it in bed?” Blake offered distantly.

“I- can… can you come to- come to bed? It’s… it’s just so cold.” Weiss whimpered.

“Sorry Kitten, I’m still busy with work. I wanted to make sure you got dinner though.” Blake’s lie grated on Weiss’s blistering sore of an emotionally raw self.

“Then… then can I come with you? L- lay by your feet?”

“Silly, you just said you were cold. You’d only be colder sitting on the floor by my feet like that.” Blake’s cheery tone broke Weiss; the essence or pretending that nothing was wrong, that everything would be fine when things were oh so clearly not fine!

“NO!” Weiss screamed. “No! You don’t get to do this! To! To play with my emotions like this! I- I’m not just some toy! I- I can accept being your Kitten… but… but you pretending to care like that? And then just pull away? That! That’s just cruel! What- what am I to you! Just… just some fucking game! Se- see how pitiful you can make the evil heiress! I- I get it! I’ve made mistakes! I can understand everything else! But! But this!?” Weiss broke out into tears and began to shake rather violently. Her mouth continued to move; more in stammering breaths and failed attempts to find words, but also with hope that maybe Blake could say something to the contrary; that the faunus might have some kind of explanation about why she was doing this, why she was so distant other than just to fuck with the poor Kitten. No relief ever came. “You know! I- I actually thought you cared- that you actually gave a shit about me! How fucking stupid, huh? Yeah, I can’t believe it either.” Weiss paused, the last fraction of her hope disintegrating away in the face of Blake’s apathetic expression and silence. “Yeah! Well, it won’t happen again! I won’t fall for it again. Cause- cause now I know all that soft Owner shit; that caring; it’s all some sick fucking joke! It’s a joke, and- and I’m not playing along anymore!” Weiss’s energy died out, and so did her yelling. It all died, and she slowly slumped back down into her bedding. “Just… just get out.” Weiss sniffled. “Leave me alone.” She turned her back on Blake and allowed herself to cry.

“Al- alright then. I’ll just leave your meal right here then. I- I have an emergency meeting to go to; that’s why I brought this down now. I’m sorry.” Blake sniffled, and Weiss almost actually thought she could hear sadness in Blake’s voice. “Take care Kitten. I’ll be home soon, and we can talk then.” Blake stifled a sob, and the sound reinvigorated the dying garden of hope in Weiss for just a moment.

Weiss even summoned the energy to turn around, but by the time she did, Blake was gone.
